Two New York lawmakers are working to draft a bill that would propose a social media check before a gun purchase.
Brooklyn Borough President Eric Adams and state Sen. Kevin Palmer’s proposal would allow authorities to review three years of social media history and one year of internet search history of any person seeking to purchase a firearm....
The two are hoping to identify any hate speech on social media profiles, which are often revealed only after someone is arrested in a mass shooting.

Should be opposed by those sites precisely due to the financial losses incurred by users fleeing to competitors.

I just checked my FR account. My real name isn't listed there. Someone would have to force entry into FR's secure database to find my email address, then force my email provider to give up my name to them.
Violating the 4th Amendment to such a degree would spark a backlash of epic proportions.

This happened to me once. A woman on facebook, a real nutcase, tried to get me thrown out of a facebook group by creating a duplicate account in my name. Then sending herself a fake message from that phony account in which she has me insulting the group founder. She forwarded that message to the group founder. Fortunately he didnt take her word for it and let me defend myself and let me stay in the group. I reported her to facebook, but facebook refused to do anything about it. I appealed their decision and they still refused.
That foreign population in New York is full of plans for foreign government laws and policies, and it’s already established from the west coast to Colorado.
Clearly unconstitutional under both the first AND second amendments.
