WASHINGTON (Reuters) - U.S. President Donald Trump said on Wednesday the United States could send as many as 15,000 military troops to the border with Mexico, as he hardens his stance against a caravan of migrants fleeing violence and poverty in Central America. The Pentagon has said it has identified about 7,000 active-duty troops, including about 2,000 on standby, that could be deployed to the southern border.

International law states that they must request asylum in the FIRST country outside of their home country...If they dont, we arent required to give it..."
Absolutely correct!
What they’re seeking asylum from is no worse than some major US cities. Murder, assault, rape, robberies, drugs. It’s not persecution, it’s crime.
Mexico, Guatemala, EL Salvador, Honduras, Nicaragua, all have a Constitution and elections to be able to fix their problems just as our major cities have. Who’s problem is it that they keep voting for the people offering the most freebies?
No dumb b@stard ever won a war by going out and dying for his country. He won it by making some other dumb b@stard die for his country. ~ Gen. George S. Patton
Nope, the US controls the airspace and has good supply lines. We can just go behind them.
Trump rally in FL in 1-1/2 hours.
Well, once he has the troops at the border and the caravan turns back, he can use them to start building the rest of the wall.
How long can we leave them on the border?
Perhaps the tents will be in Mexico, or we will establish a temporary embassy to the Moon wherever the tents are located.
GOOD! Show of force to get them to change their minds and come here the legitimate way!
“....military troops....”
So, you agree with Ruth Bader Ginsberg....... we must follow International Law.
That is weak. No one follows that law because it is unenforceable. To claim the law, you must allow international enforcers.
Guess what? there are no international enforcers.
Thank Goodness it’s not a Broadway troop!
Of course not...Just stating that President Trump is NOT REQUIRED to offer amnesty to the invaders....
It is also covered under a US Code...I don’t know the number, but it has been posted several times over the last few days in FR...
We’re with ya, Mr. President!
(I’d love to see that wall built by the military in about a month.)
U.S. Code Title 8 Chapter 12 Subchapter II Part I § 1158
I was watching some documentary, a guy from Ghana living in Tijuana tents. He talked about how he should have been let in the USA because all of Africa was poor, with few job prospects, random wars and widespread poverty. The exact same line as the central americans are using.
Western exceptionalism has turned bare countries into productive countries. American exceptionalism in particular. But Westerners were told to leave other countries because we were bad bad colonialists and inperialists. And so we did. And we grew and prospered and developed the most advanced. law-abiding society on the planet. We sacrificed and scrimped and saved to preserve our legacy for our children. Yet fifty years on, everybody wants to come to the West, not asking for entry based on some merit or skill, but demanding it as if somehow we owe them for their countries remaining poor because of their own bannishment of Western exceptionalism from their lands.
What would be a great result from this military presence would be a big hit on cartel drug trade across the border. After all the videos from trail cameras showing cartel gunmen armed with AKs freely escorting large groups of their drug mules, a reduction of that activity would be nice. The cartel boys that lop off heads of competition may not end up being too happy with caravan heads after they bite into profits. We'll see after they get far enough North into cartel territory with their caravans.
Tin hat: 15,000 troops with tanks and Bradleys will be used in a joint operation with Mexico to root out and destroy the cartels.
Spec ops to be used similar to raids on alqeada and ISIS targets to get the cartel’s leadership.
Thanks****
