A number of Megyn Kelly's black colleagues at NBC are shocked that the host is fighting to receive a full payout of her contract after her comments defending blackface earlier in the week.
DailyMail.com spoke to a number of employees whose feelings on the subject ran the gamut from 'deeply hurt' to outright 'appalled' at Kelly's behavior and reports that she might claim her coverage of the #MeToo movement played a role in her termination.
On Tuesday, Kelly defended the practice of blackface during a roundtable discussion with an all-white panel where not one participant referenced the deeply racist and hurtful history of the practice in the United States.
'How dare she? Who the hell does she think she is?' said one NBC employee
'Her blackface comments were bad but falsely playing the #MeToo card is the worst form of white privilege I have ever seen.'

Networks have a general clause, which might be useable, but she’s going to drag this into court, and what she said isn’t illegal. Judge will just start laughing. But if they do pay out the full amount, they would expect her not to work for that specified period....that would be a negative.

Specify work. She could write a book. Do speech tours. Fundraisers for charities. Lots of ways to stay in the public eye and erase any harm or fallout.

This man paid a terrible price for this!. it caused him to get a divorce shortly afterwards. I mean can you imagine his agony because of his divorce from . . . . who? Whoopi Goldberg? You gotta be sh#$%ing me. Well, it seems he came out all right from that after all.
That is the worst misogynistic comment by an NBC staffer I've seen in a long time. Maybe it's time that NBC install that glass ceiling again, Mr. Male Privilege?
I read her comments. They were not remotely racist. She was remembering when it was okay to dress up as your favorite celebrity which may include black people such as Diana Ross.
