CNN then runs a clip of a former FBI agent saying that the goal was to spread fear and garner attention.

Maxine and the rest must have a good reason why they're not fearful......why they're not ringing the alarm bells.

This was planned so it would be on the front page and lead newscasts for a week before the election. All during that time the media would explicitly blame Trump, as they are doing.
1-2 days from now, there will be another manufactured crisis which will rip the bombs off the front page and thus leave people with the idea that Trump is responsible.
After the election we will find out who sent the bombs, but it will be too late.

The tape: either has a fingerprint on it or some other type of DNA evidence that can be compared to another sample. That is, if there’s a sample in a database or they get a suspect and compare to that person.
The explosive: if it’s something exotic, then you do a trace from where the stuff was distributed to who is was sold to. If it’s common gunpowder, good luck. If it’s homemade, in someone’s garage/basement, good luck, unless there’s some exotic ingredient.
Recipe for explosive: Lots and lots and lots of copies of the Anarchist’s Cookbook out there and obviously, the internet. But I guess the Dem’s can go to their buddies at Google, Bing, etc and have them search for anyone that has looked up the recipe for PETN or some other explosive that you can make in your kitchen.
The pipe: Can be purchased anywhere unless it has some distinguishable number or mark that can show where it was sold. Or it also has a fingerprint or some type of DNA.
Timer/Detonator: See above concerning an identifying number or mark that can be used to do a trace.

Phony bombs were sent to Democrats who have publicly denounced President Trump, or who caused the Trump name harm.
However, there was one person who did that in spades who did NOT get a phony bomb sent to him.

In my opinion, that fact tends to support the theory that an anti-Trump nutcase sent the bombs, but only to those who are still threats to Trump, to make it look like a pro-Trump person sent them.
But a pro-Trump nutcase would have included a person who caused a large amount of pain to the Trump household. In my opinion.
As an aside: Opa-Locka, Florida, source for the fake bombs is deep in Miami-Dade County, a heavily dem area in south Florida. Funny thing - heavy minorities, high crime rates and official corruption for years and years with a significant architectural Moorish (islamic) base.
