Former President Barack Obama defended his record at a Las Vegas election rally Monday, telling Nevada Democrats to "remember who started" the country's economic recovery after the Great Recession and accusing President Trump of practicing "corrupt politics."

An anemic “recovery” began after the election of the GOP House in 2010 which began gridlock to block more of his policies from passing, as well as a massive increase in GOP controlled legislatures and governors to affect the nation’s economic policies (such as fracking, local tax reforms and incentives, etc.). Prior to this, we can recall the day prior to the Democrats taking control of Congress in 2007, the unemployment rate was a healthy 4.6%, and then ballooned in the years to come to double digits. After the defeat of Obama, not only where his policies blocked, but they began actually being reversed, followed by tax reform, etc. causing the anemic virtually dead recovery becoming an economic boom - jobs coming back Obama said would never going to come back due to policies he both opposed and said wouldn’t work.
That’s what we remember...and that’s what happened.
