Doctor Who takes on worst enemy yet as show tackles racism for the first time

Doctor Who is about to do battle with a new deadly enemy...racism.
Sunday’s episode centres around Rosa Parks who refused to give up her seat in the “colored section” of an Alabama bus to a white passenger.
The outcry over her 1955 arrest sparked the start of the civil rights movement.
In her latest adventure, Time Lord Jodie Whittaker lands in America’s Deep South as an evil alien tries to disrupt the historic confrontation.
She and her team have to ensure the pivotal moment is not sabotaged.
Sidekicks Ryan Sinclair and Yasmin Khan face discrimination as they are refused entry to a motel and both discuss modern racism, too.
Ryan, played by black actor Tosin Cole, says: “It’s not like Rosa Parks wipes out racism from the world forever.

Dropped the cable tier that had BBCAmerica, because I got tired of their constantly playing reruns of StarTrek:TNG.
May catch the current series on Amazon Prime in a few months.

There was an episode of Red Dwarf called "Tikka to Ride", where the crew accidentally prevents the assassination of JFK. This changes history and disaster follows. They have to go back in time again to make sure the assassination is successful, recruiting JFK himself as the "second shooter."
