Pennsylvania Families Are Thriving In The Trump Economy

The Trump economy is booming, and these benefits are helping Pittsburgh families big time.

For far too long, families across the country faced an uncertain future. The so-called leaders of our nation were sending jobs and wealth overseas, leaving the American people to deal with economic decline and dependency.

Even worse, draconian taxes and regulations meant that would-be entrepreneurs were held back by red tape.

Resulting from President Trump’s tax cuts and deregulations, Pennsylvania has transformed into the perfect environment for business and labor demand. Those conditions have put more money back in the pockets of Pennsylvanians and have created more jobs for our communities.

Thankfully, 2018 has been particularly good for our country.

The U.S. unemployment rate dropped below 4 percent for the first time in our nation’s history this year. The President’s pro-business, pro-growth policies also saw a record-breaking $300 billion repatriated back to the country during the first quarter of 2018. The second quarter of 2018 saw our nation’s GDP growth rate climb past 4 percent for the first time since 2014.

What does this mean for families in Pittsburgh and the rest of Pennsylvania? A secure financial future and a strong statewide economy.

Since President Trump took office, the state has added over 91,000 jobs and more than 45 businesses have either increased salaries, raised hourly wages, or awarded employees $1,000+ one-time bonuses, including seven right here in Pittsburgh.

Pittsburgh’s unemployment rate was 3.6 percent in May, according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics  — nearly a full point lower than the state as a whole and the lowest it has been since 1999. Compare this to the city’s unemployment rate of 6.1 percent when President Trump took office; higher than the state as a whole. We are on track for President Trump’s policies to halve Pittsburgh’s unemployment rate in less than two years.

More than half of the 91,000 jobs created in Pennsylvania under the new administration benefit the Pittsburgh area. Our city has seen a net gain of 51,000 jobs since January 2017, including over 1,000 manufacturing jobs and close to 2,000 mining and logging jobs.

In addition to creating a thriving economy, President Trump’s tax reform also directly implemented a number of pro-family policies. The child tax credit increased from $1,000 to $2,000, and even parents who don’t make enough money to pay income tax can still claim over $1,000 of the credit. Additionally, 529 savings plans can now be used for private school tuition.

The President’s daughter, Ivanka Trump, is also leading efforts to implement a national paid family leave policy. As the First Daughter said in her recent op-ed, "If executed responsibly, paid family leave is targeted government action with the right incentives — designed to increase the independence, health and dignity of our citizens".

The economy is almost unrecognizable from where it was two years ago. Pennsylvanians have more job opportunities and more money in their pockets than they’ve had in years.

But this is only the beginning.

As long as Americans vote to send Republicans who will support President Trump’s agenda to Washington, D.C. in November, taxes and regulations will continue to be cut, and the wealth, health, and happiness of America’s families will continue to grow.

One political party cares about people doing better; one does not.

Under Trump, clearly people are doing better than they were under Obama.
The Democrats hate that.

The bitch is that Wolfe and Casey will be re-elected because they will carry the largest urban areas in the state. Maybe PA should enact the system we use for electing the president so each county will have a say.

I live in W PA and everywhere you go, help wanted signs with specific $$$ listed, Carpenter $33/hr to start, Walmart $15/hr, machine operators with any experience $28/hr-$35hr for more exp.

Even at my age {I'm in the 4th quarter} I could get multiple jobs...today. I've actually thought about it, but because I don't need it and am loving life, I probably would not put out like I should, and that isn't fair to an employer.

I've never been a coaster, and don't wanna start now.

I live in Upstate NY. And it’s turning into a ghost town. Our gov refuses to debate. And Downstate and Albany are just fine with that.

The structure of our economy has been squeezing income for decades and many of these issues exist regardless of the economy. Health costs is one area that comes to mind.

Regardless of ideology the left only needs to convince enough voters they can provide a safety net. If they flip enough “suburban” voters like Obama and drum up the minority, they win regardless of facts.

I’m a shrimper. Even now, in mid October, which is when we start slowing down, we can catch more shrimp legally. It’s unusual for me to renew my captains license in September, as they all expire on August 31st. Monday morning I’m grabbing up my crew and we’re headed out for 45 days. This is not typical, and I credit it to President Trump’s policies

Obama wanted “Hope and Change” but it didn’t work. “Make America Great Again” is getting people back to work.

But the people will still vote Democrat.

And the Republican Party is at fault.

The Republican elites at state and national level have deserted Lou Barletta, in a race against the corrupt “Catholic” abortionist Casey which should have an easy win.

Remember, Trump won Pennsylvania in spite of the Republican ruling class’ opposition.

That is only way those who do not live in metropolitan areas will have a voice in future statewide elections.

Check back between January 1 and April 15 next year when they file their first IRS returns with the capped SALT deduction.

I bet there will be many fat checks written to the US Treasury.

The US took in record taxes this year. When the tax season ends, millions of families will realize that because of the elimination and cap of deductions, they were screwed while conservative hating corporations like Facebook, Amazon, and Google saved Billions in taxes due to the slashing of the corporate rate.

The tax cuts were a good move - but the screwing of millions of American families to "pay for it" was and is the worst single decision of the Trump presidency.

Binghamton Area lost 600 private sector jobs and The Prince of the House of Cuomo keeps corruption alive and well with every stupid “competition “ for airports and downtowns - and special deals for medical practices.

Give us an example of the financial situation of a person in Pennsylvania who will be subject to that SALT cap.

This is a trick question.

Lurker,

Millions of Republicans and families are getting screwed by the Federal government's confiscation of their money. Repeat: their money, not the Federal government's money. Their money.

That isn't conservatism. To celebrate it is wrong, and anti-American.

The House Ways and Means Committee Chairman, Kevin Brady (R-TX) was on Hugh Hewitt's program last December.

I taped the program. He admitted that for the "budget number to work", they had to screw over millions of families by capping and eliminating their tax deductions. They had a Trillion and half marker that they set, and when the corporate tax was slashed (a gift to corporations), the middle and upper middle class taxpayers had to make up the difference. Hugh Hewitt even said, "There is real money there, and the controversial SALT provision has to stay."

Have you seen some of the Democrat Congressional campaign ads this fall?

The Republicans in vulnerable districts are getting destroyed on this issue. Many of us said this exact thing would happen last November and December.

Demrat Pa. Gov. Wolf is taking all the credit and will easily be re-elected. The GOP in Pa. has lost its way, let alone the Suburbs.

If Republicans lose the House, it will be because of this tax bill.

They are most certainly not campaigning on this tax bill back in the affluent suburban districts.

You know, those districts with educated women and joint incomes over $120k. They’re paying $5 - $600 a month in property taxes and in most cases over $1500 a month in income and other state and local taxes.

And Republicans in these districts voted for a bill that taxes the money they used to pay these state taxes. A concept that was opposed by even the most liberal Democrats of the 1930s.

And the media is trying to say it’s because “smart women” hate Trump.
