Yes, down to a dull roar, but nothing done on my list for the day. It’s hard learning to not care. And it’s worse knowing that customer service is suffering and I can’t do anything about it. No one is happy. The ticket system takes forever!!
Good morning, ML...((HUGS))...glad you have turned the corner and are feeling better.
Good visit...just 4 days, and he just rested. He came off the slope after 6 weeks, 4 days off (not enough to fly home to Georgia), and back to the slope.
Bummer you couldn’t tackle your list, and I know what you mean about learning to not care. NOT easy at all. But they’ve left you no choice, have they? :-(
Good evening, Janey ((HUGS))...have great flights wherever you fly.
Good with kids....LOL!!
It did sound like he slipped at one point. I would have loved for him to go to the summit, but it’s quite a climb!
Heehee! I know. Very clever idea!
I can’t stay awake. Gotta go finish the music thread and go to bed.
Rest well when you get there...you should be running on empty.
He was probably slipping on some tefra here and there, or just slipping on the lava because it’s so uneven.
It’s got to be awfully tempting out walk out there but I’d be spooked too. He should have gone around to the backside and followed the footprints Charles’ friend followed when he went out to Big Daddy a while back. He wouldn’t have had to worry about voids then. And he could have climbed up the slope too. That WOULD be cool!
I bet he goes out there again and goes farther next time. The desire’s strong in him. LOL
Get a good night’s sleep. I hope you’re able to get some of your list dealt with tomorrow.
I’m not far behind ya. Too many early mornings in a row and not sleeping well at night IS catching up, no doubt. LOL
How's everyone doing this morning?
After what they’ve been through, they do have the need to see it close up and I don’t blame them one bit. I wonder how much heat is still radiating from the lava. There’s plenty of steam. Such a barren landscape now.
Howdy, E.G.C. ((HUGZ))
I was able to stay up later tonight and not miss you for a change.
How are things over your way these days? Have you been able to get out to the lake with Gizmo or has the weather put a damper on your fun?
If I was there, I’d be all over that lava! LOL! But I wouldn’t go alone, just in case something happened.
They did go through a heck of a summer, for sure. I wonder how many hours you and I spent watching it all via Scott’s, Charles’, and Gabe’s camera lenses. Oh, and we can’t forget Brandon and Andy at the beginning. HVO needs to copy all their videos and keep them just because they documented the whole thing so well.
I was surprised Scott didn’t talk at all in the video tonight. No mentions of feeling heat during his trek or anything. Might have been cool where he walked since he didn’t go through the areas that were steaming.
I hope someone is keeping the records. I can’t forget how violent those fissures were when Brandon and Andy were at that house. It was so odd how it ended as quickly as it started. Just....stopped. Guess they probably spent a couple of weeks wondering when the other shoe would drop.
Needless to say he came back and I scolded him. I've put a tire in the hole to plug it. He's in the house safe and sound and it's raining right now.
But he he was jumping and running and enjoying himself out at the lake yesterday.🤣
HVO is keeping their own records. They’ve had helicopters and drones over the area the whole time and they had people on the ground with cameras and other equipment.
But they should at least get the videos Brandon and Andy got from that back porch of the show fissures 16, 17, and 20 put on. That was spectacular!
It was probably more than two weeks everyone was on edge wondering if things would crank up again. Whew!
Charles did a new update yesterday and there’s apparently expansion going on in the rift zone. Could be magma filling back in again. They don’t seem to expect more eruptions any tie soon though. But volcanos are gonna do what they want when they want.
Ruh roh! Not good that he figured out how to escape under the fence. I hope he doesn’t make a habit of it.
Glad you were able to get to the lake yesterday. I just pulled up the radar and looks like an outing today isn’t in the cards. Mighty soggy over there.
We’ll get our dose of it when it gets here around midnight. At least it’s supposed to be out of here by sunrise Sat. morning.
I love the drone footage! I saw that video of Char’les’s and it was curious how there have been “expansions”. Hope that doesn’t mean another eruption any time soon!
