A Turkish newspaper reported on Oct. 18 that one of the suspects involved in the disappearance of Saudi writer Jamal Khashoggi died in a suspicious car accident in Riyadh.
Mashal Saad al-Bostani, a 31-year-old lieutenant of the Saudi Royal Air Forces, was among the 15 suspects who arrived and left Turkey on Oct. 2 after going to Saudi Arabias Istanbul consulate when Khashoggi visited there, according to daily Yeni Şafak.
The newspaper said sources did not release any details about the traffic accident in Riyadh and Bostanis role in the murder was not yet clear.
Daily Hürriyet columnist Abdulkadir Selvi claimed on Oct. 18 that Saudi Arabias Istanbul consul Mohammad al-Otaibi could be the next execution as Crown Prince Mohammad bin Salman would do anything to get rid of evidence.
Turkish daily Yeni Şafak reported Oct. 17 that Al-Otaibis voice could be heard in one of the recordings, which Turkish authorities are believed to have, of Khashoggis interrogation at the consulate.
According to the report, after Al-Otaibi told the interrogators to do it somewhere else outside or I will be in trouble, he was told to shut up if you want to live when you are back in Saudi Arabia.
Al-Otaibi returned to Saudi Arabia on Oct. 16 before his residence in Istanbul was searched by police for more than eight hours on Oct. 17 and Oct. 18.

“A Turkish newspaper reported on Oct. 18 that one of the suspects involved in the disappearance of Saudi writer Jamal Khashoggi died in a suspicious car accident in Riyadh.”
BTW, for those that don’t know, this Khashoggi is the nephew of Adnan Khashoggi, a very famous (and rich) arms dealer who had very close ties with the Saudi Royal Family. FYI, one of Adnan Khashoggi’s sisters married a guy named al-Fayez...and they had a son named Dodi al-Fayez. Oh, and old Adnan also owned a very, very large and luxurious yacht...which was purchased by one Donald J. Trump. But, so far, no Russians. :>)
Fixed it for you.
Well said! I’m amazed at how many ppl think they “know” exactly what occurred, with zero reliable evidence so far. I get attacked for raising various questions, but it is not reasonable to simply accept Erdogan talking points on this without some clear, firm EVIDENCE.
Staged accident, the perp is living under an assumed name at one of the Royal family palaces in Switzerland or Luxembourg.
I agree. I just don't get this. Why does this story get some much coverage?? The Sauds have executed hundreds over the past two or three years. Why are we supposed to care about them killing one more of their own citizens?
“A Turkish newspaper reported.........”
Yep. The Saudis should say that consistent with their laws, this guy was tried in absentia for treason and sentenced to death, a sentence which was carried out when he returned to Saudi soil.
Its really none of our business. Stuff like this happens all the time and we shouldn’t get our noses involved...period.
Exactly, what you said. I don’t understand why our government is involved in any way.
A Saudi citizen goes missing at a Saudi Embassy in Turkey, so why do we care?
The Saudis must have hired the Clintons as consultants on how to cover up threats to power. If so, there will be several more deaths in the wake of this fiasco.
Arkancide and tying up loose ends.
Isn’t this kinda like Seth Rich getting killed in a robbery gone wrong?
Her car accident a couple days earlier was her trying out the plan in a nonlethal manner.
Erdogan is the one everyone should be looking at. He’s up to his eyeballs in this. He releases the American Pastor and then tries to foment conflict with his Muslim rival. He’s up to no good.
This whole Khashoggi stinks of a set-up.
I don’t give a rat’s hairy hind end about allegedly dead dude. I wanna know who’s trying to start a stampede and why.
We received a payment of $100 million from Saudi Arabia on Tuesday, the same day Secretary of State Mike Pompeo arrived in Riyadh to discuss the disappearance of Jamal Khashoggi.
Saudi Arabia publicly pledged the payment to support US stabilization efforts in northeastern Syria in August but have been slow to pay up.
Cue the “Goodfellas” theme.
Saudi suspect in Khashoggi case dies in car accident:
Pretty far away for Arkancide.
Clean-up on aisle 11.
Maybe a civil war in Saudi Arabia has started. Kashoggi was not totally without friends in Saudi Arabia, even in high places.
