Lesley Stahl’s interview with Trump was an undeniable get; he’d been scarce on mainstream media since around the time he appeared on tape with NBC’s Lester Holt and indicated he’d fired former FBI Director James Comey in part due to the Russia investigation.
But the interview seemed governed by two motives, both of which played into the hands of a media-savvy President whose refusal to play by typical rules of engagement has been at the center of his rise.

I'm surprised they still use the mechanical stopwatch image, and haven't replaced it with a smartphone timer app. Probably half of Americans have no idea what a traditional stopwatch is, but those aren't the people who watch 60 Minutes anyway.

I was going to comment on the Comments section of what is truly NOT a right of center website. The pro-Trump theme in there is delicious. More and more I believe we will only lose 5-7 House seats and pick up at least 4 net Senate seats.

I’ve noticed that on news sites here in NJ they either disable comments sections quickly or don’t even offer them; while it is a lib state the literates that can use a computer tend to be conservative (we did elect pro-life, anti-tax Christie twice). I suspect many other propaganda sites will be doing the same; no reason they should offer a platform to their enemies (as we do for Juan Williams).

Stahl is one of 3, ancient, fake blonde news readers, I cannot tell apart! (One is married to Greenspan). They all have tiny, shrunken bodies and skeletal-looking heads. Their hate, plus 80 yrs of over-dieting, must be to blame.
But CBS benefitted greatly because POTUS is a magnet to viewers. Their advertising bolus was likely a one-off they needed to cushion the slide they are making into irrelevancy.

As conservatives, we still get annoyed by the liar media but the good news is the liar media are historically falling into oblivion and there are diminishing means of propping them up unless their billionaire backers can pull out an election win.

When 60 Minutes showed the question about Russia meddling for the second time and Leslie Stahl being interviewed by another CBS “journalist” about her 3 interviews with now President Trump, I stopped watching.
When candidate Trump went on the morning shows every day during the campaign, he was LIVE on the phone. That is how he got his message out directly to us non-elite American citizens. He also answers about ten questions before getting on his helicopter to go somewhere. These are rapid fire questions on different topics. He answers them all without any notes. This interview seemed to be just like those impromptu press availabilities. LDJT has all the knowledge in his brain, not a few topics pre-assigned and memorized from note cards.
He's so much smarter than anyone in the media, most especially Leslie Stahl!
