THE GREAT AMERICAN SONGBOOK
HARRY WARREN
GOLD DIGGERS OF 1935: LULLABY OF BROADWAY
Once a Harry Warren tune established itself in a movie, there was a long line to record it. Harry and Jack Warner approved because the cash registers ring was music to their ears.
In 1935, the Dorsey brothers had served their apprenticeships with other bands and were out on their own. Tommy and Jimmy were still talking to each other at this point. The approach is mostly Thirties dance band; its not the Swing Era yet.

THE GREAT AMERICAN SONGBOOK
HARRY WARREN
GOLD DIGGERS OF 1935: LULLABY OF BROADWAY
While these ladies made their mark in the late Thirties, they would become the voices of the war years.
