Executives at ABC now believe that their decision to fire Roseanne Barr from their revival of Roseanne was a mistake and the networks spin-off series The Conners may flop, according to a report from Mail Online. Two senior executives at the network told the outlet that ABC President Channing Dungeys decision to immediately fire the actress and cancel her show after she made racially charged comments about former Obama adviser Valerie Jarrett was a knee-jerk decision that they would later regret.
We didnt think it through properly. What Roseanne did was wrong but we shouldnt have rushed to fire her. It was almost a knee-jerk reaction by Ben [Sherwood] and Channing [Dungey] who should have launched an investigation, one insider reportedly said. This would have given them more time to listen to the public, advertisers and cast members to determine the best decision.
Barr compared Jarrett to if the Muslim brotherhood & Planet of the Apes had a baby, comments that were condemned by Dungey as abhorrent, repugnant and inconsistent with our values. Yet one insider apparently suggested that ABC should instead have temporarily suspended her before making a final decision.
They couldve suspended her from the first few episodes without pay and had her return later on in the season, the source explained. I mean the season finale saw Roseanne going to the hospital for knee surgery. While they worked out her fate, her character could have faced serious complications and fought for her life, while simultaneously making Roseanne fight for her career with a national apology tour.
The morning the racist tweet scandal blew up, Roseanne offered to publicly apologize and do the rounds of every show but Ben and Channing werent having any of that and wanted her gone, they continued.

Bwah hah hah hah !!!
Only ABC PC morons could think that Roseanne without Roseanne would be a good idea.

It will flop. No one is looking forward to it
The other cast members should have come to Roseanne’s defense and refused to do the show without her. There’s power in numbers. After all, where would most of them be without her? I guess they were too terrified of being tarred with the “racist” brush themselves. So, enjoy being in a flop, people.
Rehire Barr, get rid of anything already recorded and start over, and plan for a mid-season return.
Maybe they can simplify things by simply restoring her original contract rather than negotiating fresh. Who knows?
If ABC showed true contrition about firing Barr, especially in light of recent liberal talent excesses, they could win back viewers of Roseanne.

If James gunn can get a second chance than Roseanne should have gotten one. Maybe she play the neighbor on Tim Allen’s sitcom on Fox
Hello....FOX....are you listening???
Democrats can’t win elections without the media, Hollywood, Academia constantly spewing Venom at conservatives, and conservatives never fighting back... Except Rush Limbaugh, Sean Hannity, who can both be mocked. That’s been the game plan for decades, but Trump has ruined it for them.
Being more fair and balanced might help their ratings, but they are political missionaries first and foremost. And besides, they know that all the best TV shows and movies were made decades ago by their parents generation, and the crap they’re producing now pales in comparison. Why should they try to raise their standards when they’ve already been so low for so long?
I was a cinema buff in my twenties and thirties, saw how crappy and decadent movies were becoming 20 years ago. After 9/11 I completely divorced myself from Hollywood. Stephen Colbert and Jimmy Kimmel are some sort of sick, apocalyptic, Lord of the Flies version of Johnny Carson. I’d rather watch girls volleyball.
Trump Derangement Syndrome by Hollywood is no doubt costing the industry an incalculable amount in losses.
Politicizing an entire industry is not good for business. Truth is, conservatives are just fine doing something other than watching sports, tv, or going to the movies.
The big reality check is less than a month away. Mid term elections will show the world what this country thinks of the psychotic left. Hollywood’s tasty tears are a comin!
The Murphy Brown reboot may be the only series to ever pull an older demographic than Matlock.
I could have saved them a lot of money and told them that mos ago.
Maybe a character that is cross dressing tranny would help.
There, fixed it.
Is that a problem? :)
Even better!
Not only does the show not have Roseanne, it has a bunch of actors who publicly trashed and/or turned their backs on Roseanne.
