President Trump said Thursday that he supports prison reform and that Attorney General Jeff Sessions' opposition doesn't represent his administration's position.
"If he doesn't [support reform], then he gets overruled by me. Because I make the decision, he doesn't," Trump said during a phone interview broadcast on "Fox and Friends."
Sessions, an opponent of criminal justice reform, argues the pending First Step Act would make the country less safe, threatening one of the top priorities of presidential adviser and Trump son-in-law Jared Kushner.

Ahhh Yes, Jeff Sessions.. The Invisible AG.. soon to be replaced by someone who actually is up to the job.
Reduce compassionate age release from age 65, to 60? I don’t agree with that in every case. Most 60 year olds are pretty active and healthy. Would depend upon how long someone has been in prison, among other things. Some people should be locked up with the key thrown away. Depends on what they’re in for.
Ive never, in my life, seen such a directly insubordinate person survive in his job for such a long time.
I see you haven’t visited the VA or DMV, lately. ;D
nothing seems to have gone according to the "plan"...believe me, I wish and hope I'm wrong about the Sessions but if we loose the midterms because of inaction by him, all hell is going to break loose, even on this board....
If I was a prisoner, I would self-identify as a non-prisoner.
What about prisoners who self identify as pregnant or elderly??
They can be moved to high security prisons that self-identify as resorts.
Is prison reform a big issue with independents?
Don’t know, but just saying this guy doesn’t have and insightful bone in his body.
Private ‘for-profit- prisons are a big issue, and a disgusting thing to even have exist. Particularly when the corporations that run them can make contributions to the politicians who have input into what crimes are punished how.
Given the election situation in the House, Trump dares not throw ANYTHING out there that might tip the balance to the Dems.
You WOULD see impeachment then. He will move, I’m sure, after the midterms.
