House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) told the San Francisco Chronicle editorial board on Wednesday that Democrats would make exposing President Donald Trump’s tax returns a top priority if they win a majority in the U.S. House of Representatives in November and she is elected Speaker of the House.
Democrats have been obsessed with Trump’s tax returns since the 2016 election, convinced that they will turn up information that would damage or disqualify him, though the information has always been available to the Internal Revenue Service.
Last year, MSNBC anchor Rachel Maddow was mocked for hyping a Trump tax return from 2005 that revealed the rather ordinary fact that he had earned more than $150 million and paid $38 million in income taxes.

I argue with those people from time to time, they seem to think his tax returns are the scandal of the century. Oddly, it never dawns on them that this is legally protected private information.

These topics would be very far down on the list of things for Democrats to worry about if they gain seats. They will be all about Pay Back!
This will certainly enhance the lives of all citizens.
His tax returns are going to show, that he pays a lot of tax, but takes advantage of every loop hole he can take. Just like you and I would do.
Secondly, he will unashamedly brag about this, and say I encourage all Americans to pay as little tax under the law that they are required to pay.
Once again, his polls will go up over this.
Contrast this with Pocahontas listing over $100,000 in charitable donations to charity, not cash mind you, but non-cash deductions or Mittens looking foolish and embarrassed about his off shore tax shelters.
No, bring it on.
He’s been preparing for the office of president for a long time, and has arranged his tax sheets and other things accordingly,
PLUS, he learned from his DAD early on to be very upfront and above board with taxes.
I have a feeling, Folks, that after the mid-terms and then after 2020 the democrats will be pretty much demoralized and really beaten with probably half the numbers in office that they have now... that’s right, Nation wide, they will lose half of what they have now by 2020.
So of all the things we as a Nation need to address THIS rises to the top. What is it like to have a toxic waste site for a brain?

You would think that something like the economy or security would be a priority for the Democrats if they were to take control of the House or Senate. But, I guess taking down the President and overturning the 2016 election is more important to them. Hope registered Democrats and independents are lying attention

She might want to be careful....Trump is the kind of guy to say fine...let’s make a federal law that you can’t be elected to President, House Representative, or Senator...without putting five years of tax returns in the public eye. All of the sudden....they will all drop this topic like a hot rock and avoid the discussion.
I don’t know if I’m more amazed that she still believes in the “blue fairy” or that she didn’t drown in a puddle of her own drool while saying this.
Why?
How will that help a single constituent?
She could focus on jobs, health care, immigration, and all sorts of other things. She could help illegals and at least make some lives better even if not citizens’ lives. But she’d rather spend time making people angry and dividing the country - she won’t just expose the taxes but will use them as propaganda.
Democrats don't understand that their show is putting themselves on trial every time they behave unethically and malicious.
They are unfit to govern.
