President Trump said he will swear in Brett Kavanaugh to the Supreme Court on Saturday, after the nominee won a hard-fought confirmation vote in the Senate.
"I applaud and congratulate the U.S. Senate for confirming our GREAT NOMINEE, Judge Brett Kavanaugh, to the United States Supreme Court. Later today, I will sign his Commission of Appointment, and he will be officially sworn in. Very exciting!" Trump tweeted.
A case has to be brought before the court——they just don’t do what they want to do.
.
"Can we have your liver?"
I view it as an underhanded compliment
The Hill even gets this story wrong. Trump will not doing the swearing in. He is aboard Air Force One heading for MAGA rally in Topeka, KS and has probably already signed the commission once it was sent electronically. Chief Justice Roberts will administer the oath.
Will the female justices show up.
TOnight?
2 ceremonies. Roberts first. Kennedy 2nd. There will be a ceremonial one at White House when Trump returns per FOX.
Yes.
Really? I’m totally confused.
Ok. My head is spinning. How I love my president.
And what, if I might be so bold, so-ever good 'n humble deed
has that Son-of-Beelzebub
e'er done for any tried 'n true US Patriot-conservative
that He shoul be "worthy" of any pity?
Myself, I could sooner shed tears over the eventual demise of
Hillary Clinton rather than have a grass-blade-worth of "pity" for that Servant of 'ole Deluder.
Exactly - the backlash from the Dems anti-Kavanaugh hysteria will ensure, at the very least, that we keep the Senate through 2020, which means a good chance at even one or two more shifts our way in SCOTUS over that period.
The left was worried about it being 5-4, but by overplaying their hand in a desperate attempt to prevent that, they now made it more likely they’ll be up against 6-3 or even 7-2 in the decades to come.
I didn’t think I need a sarcasm tag. Pathetic.
I don’t sign up for nuthin! Too bad for me. Maybe not.
Just so everyone knows, under the same circumstances everyone else would have pulled his nomination but Trump don’t play that game
On Fox at 4:30 pm, Johnathan Turley said Chief Justice Roberts can request re-arguments.
I agree. But since most Americans follow the Rodney King school of thought (can’t we all just get along?) it’s necessary to present yourself as “reasonable”. People need to understand that politics is an ongoing arguement over how to slice the pie (or grow the pie as we believe) and that Democrats want to steal shares of the pie and that Republicans are no longer willing to let them thanks to Trump’s willingness to stand up for us.
