Mark Levin: Okay, I'll say it...

Mark Levin Okay, ill say it... 9 MINUTES AGO · PUBLIC Let’s stop pretending Susan Collins is a hero and her speech was Churchillian. Many of us were pleasantly surprised Collins did the right thing. Her speech painted Bret Kavanaugh as a bit of an activist. Let’s hope she’s wrong about that. But she came to the same conclusion as all Senate Republicans but Murkowski, i.e., Kavanaugh was the victim of a horrendous smear campaign. A sigh of relief she’s voting for his confirmation, yes. A hero, no.

I appreciate your point of view on this. I’m just saying that nobody deserves a pat on the back for doing what they were hired to do. Since Collins has been on the wrong side of so many issues, her decision to do the right thing this time should be expected.

I listened to the entire speech and thought she sounded like she had one xanax too many, but it’s righteous that she voted for Kavanaugh.

Yea, just a vote. However, her speech explained things in a calm and logical fashion such that it could help sway republican women to get out and vote. Or perhaps even turn some rats.

Susan Collins isn't a hero because she was up there saying something happened to that woman.

We all know that nothing happened to that mousey freak.

Who in the hell would want to touch that?

Liberal women are just gross and ugly inside and out.

and......hippies stink.

That caravan has a long trip. Collins is from Caribou - away up in THE COUNTY.

A woman delivered a gut punch to the “every woman needs to be believed crowd.” For that reason I think Collins was great.

Just had another conversation with an associate in Maine.

He believes that Collins just committed political suicide. She was only in at the will of a mostly blue electorate. One that views Kavenaugh as a white rapist.

For Collins to make this stand means that someone or something made her very angry. Angry enough to destroy her career and put her family at risk.

Hindsight is always 20/20. Collins was the focal point of the Dem attacks. They besieged her office, issued death threats against her and staff, demonstrated at her house, and tried to intimidate her as she walked the halls of Congress. This went on for weeks. The pressure was enormous.

Collins didn’t cave to the mob. And give some grudging credit to Flake. McConnell was also superb.

Collins brilliant speech was the closing argument for Kavanaugh. No other Rep endorsement of Kavanaugh came close. I fail to understand why some on our side demean or diminish Collins’ critical contribution to the dialogue on Kavanaugh. The reality was that there were relatively few Rep senators who came out strongly in favor of Kavanaugh. The silence was deafening.

I will give Susan Collins an ‘atta girl’ for playing the media.

She forced CNN and MSNBC to telecast her 45 minute speech that shredded all of the arguments and actions of the Democrats and the leftist media against Kavanaugh.

For that I give her thanks.

“Murk is voting ‘present’ so Daines can be at his daughter’s wedding.”

oh, yeah; I know. I heard that yesterday when they did the deal. But...

#1. I don’t trust Murkowski.

#2. Having a larger “aye” vote, even if not necessary to pass, gives more “legitimacy” to the Kavanaugh confirmation.

#3. We pretty much know that the Rats are desperate and will do something to thwart GOPs from showing up. We need the wiggle room of Daines’ presence and vote.

This isn’t a case of how many horseshoe games to bring to the Sunday School picnic. It’s America’s future. Daines needs to do his job, and his wife and daughter need to understand that.

Anyhow, in the end, he can do both.

Glad to have Collins’ vote but her “reasoning” was unsound. It basically came down to her being convinced that Kavanaugh wouldn’t threaten any of her pet socialistic programs.

If there is some last-second betrayal or gamesmanship by the Dems, or if Murkowski decides to betray that promise, then McConnell with either just keep the vote open until he returns, or hold a second vote. The fact that such an easy work-around exists is a big reason why I don't believe Murkowski will go back on that promise.

Ultimately, this is just about a dad wanting to be at his daughter's wedding. Murkowski would essentially be screwing over that family and gaining nothing, which would be another terrible look for her and for the Dems.

She'll follow through and withhold her vote. And like I said, if she doesn't, McConnell will just hold another vote.

Yes, I know. I’m a bit skeptical as well as I know we are dealing with true evil in this situation. Fingers crossed and prayers sent that everything plays out well for Kavanaugh’s confirmation today.

Of the 100 Senators, only those 4 are making headlines. What about the others, hmm?

Collins speech was planned for days. It was good to get the facts out there but it still smells. All this wishy washy will she or won’t she was nothing but theater building up to the speech. They, the GOP, had to get a woman to give because an “old white man” would have been booed so they get Collins, with her weak voice, to play with the msm. That nearly hour long list of accomplishments and the references to Merrick was to get to the libs. That speech was not created over lunch with McConnell.

There were people calling her a hero on Twitter. Levin is great on the Supreme Court.
