Former CBS News anchor Dan Rather argued Friday that Sen. Susan Collins (R-Maine) missed an opportunity to be a "hero" by announcing that she would vote to confirm Judge Brett Kavanaugh to the Supreme Court.
In a Facebook post after Collins announced her plans to vote for Kavanaguh during a lengthy speech on the Senate floor, the veteran anchor called the nomination battle a "devastating loss" for "most women" and some men.
"So Collins misses her moment to be a hero, and the old bulls win again," Rather wrote in the post.
"For most women and many men it’s a bitter, devastating loss. Which makes it all the sweeter for the old bulls, and for the forces of power, privilege and money everywhere," he added.
Rather wrote that his wife was "furious and deeply disappointed" by the day's news that Republicans have the votes necessary to confirm Kavanaugh on Saturday.
"Fill your lungs with the determined air of action. I find myself humming that old but powerful anthem of the Civil Rights Era. 'We'll walk hand in hand!' 'We are not afraid!' 'We shall overcome!'" he wrote, invoking Civil Rights-era messages.

I was pleasantly shocked by Sen. Collins decision. I won’t be happy though until the final vote and Judge Kavanaugh is confirmed.

We all know that Clinton frequented Pedophile Island. Not only is it reasonable to assume he is a pedophile, but as governor he was friends with another sleaze, a mobster named Dan Lasater who turned a virgin fourteen year old cheerleader into a cocaine addict and ultimately a prostitute. Roger Clinton went to prison with Lasater [and said that Bill had a ‘nose like a vacuum cleaner’ around cocaine], and Momma Clinton frequented the race track with the mobster.

During the 2016 Trump election Hillary Clinton was caught on tape during her ‘tender’ years fresh from college as a young defense attorney, her sadistic laughter and glee when she trained the rapist of a young child. “I’ll never trust lie detectors again! Hahahah!”
Through intrigues she blocked key evidence in the trial and questioned the child’s sanity. She claimed it was ‘fantasies’, a ‘subconscious desire to be raped’.
Did having a daughter later change her? No. Candidate Hillary refused to apologise for any of it.
