He was just in studio with Shannon Bream and said he will be there to vote yes.
From memory, I think Australia’s Parliament does the same for both houses.
In Australia, the executive and legislative are combined. For example, the Minister of Defence will be a member of the Senate or the House of Representatives and thus will vote on legislation. However, the duties of a Minister will require them to be absent from Parliament (e.g. being overseas to attend meetings or the like). In cases like that, where there is a vote required, a member of the opposition will be refrain from the vote.
Democrats are not used to repub presidents fighting back without fear. That is completely new to them, and they can’t handle it. Which president said crooked Hillary, low IQ Maxine, Pocahontas, etc?
From what I know, Daines can vote on Friday late evening based on senate schedule, and then fly back.
When they vote tomorrow it is a trial vote? So when they vote again on Saturday can they change that vote?
He never said that. In fact he was just on Fox and said he was definitely going to be there and vote yes.
The vote tomorrow is to end debate. Actual up or down vote comes on Saturday, so yes, they could go wobbly.
Must have been reading Free Republic.
Maybe in a single engine Cessna
Republican senator from Montana whose daughter is getting married Saturday and was expressing doubt that he would be available to vote if it was held on Saturday.
McConnell can hold the vote open till he returns.
“Daines said earlier that he had to go to a wedding and would miss the vote.”
He NEVER said he would miss the vote.
“and was expressing doubt that he would be available to vote if it was held on Saturday.”
That was fake news.
I won’t believe anything until I’ve heard 51 “aye!”s......
No GOP Senator should leave D.C. until Kavanaugh is CONFIRMED. No one.
So happy he could make it! /s
I was supposed to be an usher at my sisters wedding but got deployed and couldn’t make it.
Plenty of service folks deployed who have to sacrifice significant family events. If it’s OK for them, then the same should apply for this senator.
Republican Senator from Montana.
???
Come on, Kevin.
All the last minute terror over this was Daines' fault. He should have made it CRYSTAL clear to the Senate and the country, that he was NOT going to be absent for the vote.
What the hell?
What kind of bastard holds the whole country hostage to his personal family business?
Primary the asshole!
probably didn’t know when he tweeted that, that the vote was going to be on his daughter’s wedding day. but hopefully there is a plan
