GOP Sen. Ben Sasse (Neb.) said Wednesday night that he urged President Trump to nominate someone other than Brett Kavanaugh to the Supreme Court earlier this year.
"Although I've said many complimentary things about Judge Brett Kavanaugh and his distinguished record … I will say that I urged the president back in June and early July to make a different choice before he announced this nomination," Sasse said during an emotional speech from the Senate floor centering on sexual assault.

Because any other candidate picked by Trump will totally not be Kavinaughed
Did Trump ask for his opinion or recommendation? Do we care what Sasse thinks? I don’t.
I’m convinced Mitch is sticking with the timeline on a vote.
Win or lose, it’s a win for us. If they vote him down we pick up Senate seats in WV and ND. Trump goes out on the road and beats Democrats to a bloody pulp.
In the end I think Senators who like that luxury lifestyle will chicken-out on threats to vote no.

Sen. Sasse is quite the comedian. Anyone picked by Trump would be subject to wild accusations.

The reason trump went with Kavanaugh was because Amy Barrett has said she is pro life and SwineSlime excoriated her for her Catholicism saying “the dogma is deep”
Trump thought this would be an easier appointment to get through
And for those fools who say that Kav will be solidly against the Left after this episode: any judge who will color his decisions base on the political leanings of the parties involved... that is just another bad Justice, the same as RBG and Sotomayor and Kagan. Why we would ever celebrate that is beyond me.

Ask Denny Hastert - whom Ben sASSe ran cover for while head of the Congressional Page Program. Hastert was raping young male pages, and sASSe turned a blind eye to it all.

I watched this guy give left handed compliments to Kavanaugh at the hearing, He speechifies like he thinks he’s a 2020 or 2024 contender.
He isn’t and never will be. Possibly light in the loafers if you ask me. Definitely wastes himself in the mirror a handed times/day.
Imagine for a moment that he was correct... What more would they have done to a fervently and openly pro-life female Justice?
Watching the Left overreach more and more over the next decade or so will be fascinating... and also frightening. They can do no other... and our children and grandchildren will be the ones dealing with the aftermath.
