Cosmic rays emanating from the south polar ice cap could lead to new physics
Theres something mysterious coming up from the frozen ground in Antarctica, and it could break physics as we know it.
Physicists dont know what it is exactly. But they do know its some sort of cosmic raya high-energy particle thats blasted its way through space, into the Earth, and back out again. But the particles physicists know aboutthe collection of particles that make up what scientists call the Standard Model (SM) of particle physicsshouldnt be able to do that. Sure, there are low-energy neutrinos that can pierce through miles upon miles of rock unaffected. But high-energy neutrinos, as well as other high-energy particles, have large cross-sections. That means that theyll almost always crash into something soon after zipping into the Earth and never make it out the other side.

Hard to believe these same rags are publishing Climate tripe. /s
Foma.
Scientific American: “it could break physics as we know it.”
Scientific American: the Newsweek magazine of science. A total waste of print and paper and postage.
Fun facts: There are four forces in nature and either Planck’s units with unify them or Aristotle’s principles will unify the four forces.
Nothing will break the physics of Aristotle, Copernicus, Newton, Bohr, Einstein or Eddington.
ome of these bizarre particles should fly up John Kerry’s arse so he can’t sit down to NOT ONLY NOT NEGOTIATE with the Islamic Republic of Iran after being warned & then did it again & HE SHOULD BE PROSECUTED & HIS SECURITY CLEARANCE SHOULD BE REVOKED.
I see the Nazi base down there is still doing their experiments. :)
Yeah; back then the Thing was compared to a vegetable if I recall correctly.
THE THING as played by James Arness, AKA Marshall Dillon.
I particularly wanted to come down here because I was in the Arctic recently and the scientists there kept saying to me You got to go to Antarctica”.
I’d tell him that too if he was anywhere near me.
Materialists don’t believe in teleons, but they could exist.
Hitler had teams of scientists down there... not zero point - but something weird.

This breakaway civilization was known as NYMZa.
NYMZa is a transliteration of NJMZa, which stood for:
NATIONALIST
PURSUIT/EXPLORATION
AIRSHIP
PROGRAM OFFICE
If any of this is even remotely true, were in for a very wild future. And it all ends up being completely false, boy is it entertaining.

Sar/ tag on that comment or no?
So they they are guessing that these could be slau sleptons or some other evidence of supersymmetry.
YAYYYYYY !
Except, there IS a lack of America syndrome ...
Like My Filipina wife .... she's heard of Mickey Mouse and Superman, but has no clue.
In the 70’s the Science competition consisted of 50 questions, of which a third were pulled from the pages of Scientific American.
Nerds like me could make it to State just by reading the magazine.
My first introduction as to how lazy college professors could be.
Everyone knows Antarctica is where the secret Alien base is located.
Well, realistically, where else would we expect the aliens to be hiding?
