Troops from North and South Korea began removing some landmines along their heavily fortified border on Monday, the Souths defense ministry said, in a pact to reduce tension and build trust on the divided peninsula.
Project details were agreed during last months summit in Pyongyang, the capital of North Korea, between its leader, Kim Jong Un, and South Korean President Moon Jae-in.
In a statement, the ministry said the two sides agreed to remove all landmines in the so-called Joint Security Area (JSA) in Panmunjom within the next 20 days, with military engineers performing the hazardous task on the South Korean side.
There was no immediate confirmation from North Korea that its troops had begun the process.

I have a bad feeling about this.
Any possibility to a real agreement to re-joining within a few years?
Trust, but verify.
Boom!.........one down...........................Boom!.................two......
Are there no optimists left in America?
I shouldn’t chuckle at that. But I did.
Although I think the Norks may be up to dirty tricks, I am marking this another win for Trump.
Can’t take it anymore...the winning has to stop...please......NAFTA, NK, STOCK MARKET, KAVANAUGH..... ;)
Here’s where we all laugh AGAIN about Obama winning the Nobel Peace Prize for doing nothing.
Who’s President while all this NK/SK thawing is going on? It’s slipping my mind.
Better not watch the news.. Trump’s winning is continuing as we speak (err type). This new deal is big.
Forgot to add the market is up over a percent and rising.
True. I still would not trust NK, but while its takes some time to remove landmines, it takes almost no time to re-lay them. Those field could be re-mined very quickly if aggressive troop movements or other invasion indicators started appearing.
The media is calling a ‘rebrand’ of NAFTA. Totally dishonest people.
i think i’d leave this one for last...
nope
The media is also hoping the economy tanks.. enemy of the people.
I had a winning headache last night
Verify before trusting.
” with military engineers performing the hazardous task on the South Korean side...”
... and political prisoners forced to run around through the mine field on the North Korean side?
