In almost forty years of broadcasting and writing, Ive spent a lot of time tracking the fates of the Republican and Democrat parties. In recent years, the main conservative thirsts have been for a more muscular and unapologetic conservatism and for the bright light of truth to be directed onto the darkest habits of modern leftists.
The election of Donald Trump has propelled us down a road featuring satisfying helpings of both. But on one stunning day, September 27, 2018, there arose Republican resolve like nothing in recent memory. The accompanying reputational suicide of several key Democrats tied a bow around a historic day for clarity.
The occasion was the totally unnecessary session of testimony by Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh and his main accuser of sexual misbehavior, Dr. Christine Blasey Ford. The occasion was needless because Dr. Fords story in no way rises to the level of credibility to dislodge the nomination.
No decent society smears people for life based on high school misbehavior, so even if the wholly unsupported story were true, there would have been a strong argument against its relevancy today.
As such, the rhythm became: five minutes of Ms. Mitchell poking through questions of fact and memory, interrupted by five minutes of Democrat grandstanding. Then five more minutes of Ms. Mitchell seeming to inch closer to a salient point, only to be buzzered by the need to recognize the next round of Democrat fawning and prattling.
..snip..
But as soon as Judge Kavanaugh completed his opening statement, it became clear what the afternoon matinee would contain: Republicans showing more spine than they have in years, accompanied by Democrats making total asses of themselves.

Grassly did nothing wrong.
The Democrats were willing to knowingly destroy an innocent man’s life in exchange for political power. The only only way to win against such despicable tactics was to let the world see exactly how low the Democrats were willing to stoop.
In the end, it appears that virtue and courage has triumphed over evil and cowardice - and the world saw everything.
In hindsight, it is difficult to imagine that outcome without Kavanaugh, Graham, Cornyn and others being pushed to the limit.
Even the use of a female prosecutor to treat Ford gently, like the delicate and vulnerable victim she was - was the right call. And it was the right call to stop using her exactly when they did.
Yet, I don’t think it was any strategic decision on the part of Kavanaugh, Trump, Grassley, Graham, or anyone else that won the day - it was simply some people in a position of authority choosing to act from conscience and trying to do the right thing, while some others made a bargain with the devil.
I’m very proud that the Republicans chose well.
True, it is a national disgrace that Bret Kavanaugh and his family had to go through that hellish emotional gauntlet, but that’s entirely on the Democrats - not Senator Grassley.
Whitehorses hind end.
. Having roots in a religious framework consistent with the founding roots of this country are a litmus test for me.
The 'great' Dianne Feinstein came across as the Creepy Porn Lawyer's (Michael Avenatti) ditzy step-sister. Feinstein hemming and hawing - bubbling over like a white trash liar caught stealing the Church collection money...Total embarrassment.
Benefit of doubt connotes an intention of fairness and desire to simply learn the truth. Difi had neither of these things in mind. Her goal is a sniper assassination of Judge Kavannaugh and she chose a feckless goofball woman as her weapon. Difi has intended to destroy Kavanaugh any way possible and with prejudice. She is the evil hateful swine we have labeled her. She deserves worse than she has done. I’d suggest she start with a profound public apology to the Judge but if I were he I would not want or accept it. She needs to be made irrelevant.
I agree completely. She played the role of not very useful idiot. The nearly perfect stooge.
“Until he has been confirmed, its still too early to pop champagne corks.”

Once seated, he will long remember liberals and their lies against him. His rulings will reflect that. Dumb move by the mentally ill liberals.
His was legit, unlike that weirdo creep, B00ger.
No question.
Because JK never gave her the time of day she fantasized about. What she claims may have happened or only happened in her dreams.
She is nucking futs Jim.
If I lived in SC, I would vote for this man.
An actual US senator who did something. Something important.
He stood.
No, I’m serious.
And I tell you that until yesterday I despised, detested and loathed him.
I would recommend that folks view this as well.
I also felt that this side of Graham did not exist.
I was wrong.
Yeah, me too.
Republicans, all you have to do is stand and fight.
Americans respond to courage, not cowardice.
Do what Lindsey did.
Do it.
Scorched Earth or “An Eye For An Eye” is what I believe needs to happen to these Marxists who colluded and orchestrated the character assination of Judge Kavanaugh. That’s the only way to stop the evil that has invaded DC and politics in general.
I think turnabout is fair play. Take a microscope to the lives of all these Marxists and see how squeaky clean they are from childhood through today. Add Soros to the list as well and whomever else bankroll their evil including their collusion with Antifa, BLM, etc. Let the sunshine in on all of them including the Deep State.
And I thought it could not go worse for them than “high-tech lynching for uppity blacks”.
Yet it did.
Blumenthal...the man with the least integrity and character in the room attempting to destroy the man with the highest character and integrity that he will ever meet. That was disgusting.
Paybacks can be a Bitch.
I was mesmerized by Kavanaugh’s appearance and demeanor, yesterday. He truly does have the Warrior Spirit. He will be a huge asset on the Supreme Court.
