In almost forty years of broadcasting and writing, Ive spent a lot of time tracking the fates of the Republican and Democrat parties. In recent years, the main conservative thirsts have been for a more muscular and unapologetic conservatism and for the bright light of truth to be directed onto the darkest habits of modern leftists.
The election of Donald Trump has propelled us down a road featuring satisfying helpings of both. But on one stunning day, September 27, 2018, there arose Republican resolve like nothing in recent memory. The accompanying reputational suicide of several key Democrats tied a bow around a historic day for clarity.
The occasion was the totally unnecessary session of testimony by Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh and his main accuser of sexual misbehavior, Dr. Christine Blasey Ford. The occasion was needless because Dr. Fords story in no way rises to the level of credibility to dislodge the nomination.
No decent society smears people for life based on high school misbehavior, so even if the wholly unsupported story were true, there would have been a strong argument against its relevancy today.
As such, the rhythm became: five minutes of Ms. Mitchell poking through questions of fact and memory, interrupted by five minutes of Democrat grandstanding. Then five more minutes of Ms. Mitchell seeming to inch closer to a salient point, only to be buzzered by the need to recognize the next round of Democrat fawning and prattling.
..snip..
But as soon as Judge Kavanaugh completed his opening statement, it became clear what the afternoon matinee would contain: Republicans showing more spine than they have in years, accompanied by Democrats making total asses of themselves.

Awesome!
Kavanaugh won yesterday.
America won yesterday
God won yesterday.
And the Kavanaugh will, like Thomas, remember the insane left.
Ha!! Very well put!!!
Why wasnt Frauds husband there supporting her yesterday?
absolutely agree!!
“We have given you a Republic, if you can keep it.” - Benjamin Franklin
One day soon, one of these court cases now circulating at appellate court level that deal with these Campus Kangaroo Courts and "sexual assault" will make it to SCOTUS. Reckon Kavanaugh will recall his experience in making his decision?
McConnell should hold Feinstein in contempt and strip her of all committee membership for her attempted slander and destruction of a great man and his family.
Thank you for this link.
Kavanaugh came out well. Lindsey Graham came out well. Even my own doofus senator Thom Tillis came out well.
You repeatedly and consistently keep coming up with dumbass comments like this throughout your postings here on FR. What is your problem?
. Miss Mitchell was brilliant in flavoring every one of her questions with democrat illegality .... It seems to have been lost on every commentator I've listened to, but that was all I heard ... Did Feinstein .... did her staff ..... who paid for ..... and it was NOT lost on the democrats.
That found a sweet innocent voiced dumb blond type to be put into trap after trap that revealed nothing but that the democrats in their arrogance really thought they could shoot someone on the White House lawn and get away with it.
Near the end, Grassley told the democrats to ask the question and shut up, and gave Kavenaugh as much time as he needed to answer.
The democrats near the end were sitting on the tails between their legs
.
And then there was Lindsey Graham !
.
Between President Trump standing tall on planet Earth and Lindsey putting our enemies in a temporary grave ....
.
TODAY WAS BRILLIANT.
.
I don't think Kavenaugh was in on it, it wouldn't have worked if he knew.
.
All he got was the coaching to come out swinging, which he did like a boss!
. Welcome to the Supreme Court, Justice Kavenaugh.
Recalling experience is one thing, if that experience is informative. Choosing sides in advance of hearing both sides and reading their papers would be unjudicial, and if he proves unable to get past this travesty makes him unable to be objective, he ought to recuse himself from presiding on this putative case.
“I watched the 8-min clip of him and Hannity...I would strongly recommend folks go and review it. Fairly strong statements and its some side of Lindsey Graham that I felt simply did not exist...yet he stepped up and delivered a five-star moment at the hearing.” >>>>>>>>>
Here is is.

NO DECENT PERSON SHOULD EVER VOTE FOR ANY DEMOCRAT AGAIN!
Wow...could Ari be any LIMPER?
Dr. Ford's opener was really strong, but Ms. Mitchell got her though. The psychobabble, the flat affect, the evasive answers about the lie detector test, the orchestration by DiFi's office, the Google interns living in her second door, the whole scared-of-flying thing, the assertion that Keyser didn't corroborate Ford's testimony under oath because she was "focusing on her health issues", these are all now burned into my hippocampus. Dr. Ford ultimately came across as charming but deeply creepy. And her witnesses don't remember. I see it as somewhat more likely that she is a bit off in her memory than that the incident, plausible as it is, might have actually happened.
I would never have brought her allegations to the public. They're just not strong enough, even with all the expensive coaching.
Blumenthal....Senator Cadaver.
They do understand, but the left doesn’t and doesn’t want to. And that is who they are playing to.
I live in SC and had turned very negative on Graham, but yesterday he reverted to the way he was, when as a House member he led the charge on Clinton’s impeachment. That was the Graham that I remember - - full of fire.
That is WAY TOO SMALL of a LIST!! ALL DEMOCRATS NEED TO BE SHUNNED!! They are EVIL!
Did you notice Ford used Brett’s name when she was describing what she said happened. She made it personal... This is not the normal reaction ... instead they would use ‘he’ or ‘him’, due to disrespect and anger at the attacker. She was probably told to use his name, to lay it all on Kavanaugh... but it backfired on her.
If she had been attacked, she would have wanted to distance herself from even his name. It was offensive to hear her attach his name to what she said happened.
