In almost forty years of broadcasting and writing, I’ve spent a lot of time tracking the fates of the Republican and Democrat parties. In recent years, the main conservative thirsts have been for a more muscular and unapologetic conservatism and for the bright light of truth to be directed onto the darkest habits of modern leftists.
The election of Donald Trump has propelled us down a road featuring satisfying helpings of both. But on one stunning day, September 27, 2018, there arose Republican resolve like nothing in recent memory. The accompanying reputational suicide of several key Democrats tied a bow around a historic day for clarity.
The occasion was the totally unnecessary session of testimony by Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh and his main accuser of sexual misbehavior, Dr. Christine Blasey Ford. The occasion was needless because Dr. Ford’s story in no way rises to the level of credibility to dislodge the nomination.
No decent society smears people for life based on high school misbehavior, so even if the wholly unsupported story were true, there would have been a strong argument against its relevancy today.
As such, the rhythm became: five minutes of Ms. Mitchell poking through questions of fact and memory, interrupted by five minutes of Democrat grandstanding. Then five more minutes of Ms. Mitchell seeming to inch closer to a salient point, only to be buzzered by the need to recognize the next round of Democrat fawning and prattling.

But as soon as Judge Kavanaugh completed his opening statement, it became clear what the afternoon matinee would contain: Republicans showing more spine than they have in years, accompanied by Democrats making total asses of themselves.

Yes. Today the tide turned against the insane Democrats at the hearing. Now we have to work to make sure that the Republicans/Conservatives/Libertarians/ and sane Dems are convinced to get out the vote and vote themselves.
Remember what Benjamin Franklin said, “We have given you freedom, if you can keep it!”
I’m with you. This is a fraught and worrisome three or four days ahead of us. I don’t think the rabid, unhinged leftists are defeated. It they are willing to toss centuries of American jurisprudence overboard to win, there’s no telling what they might do in the coming days.
I’m actually sick to my stomach hearing commentators and Senators stating “well I believe something did happen to her and I feel bad about it but don’t believe it was Kavanaugh. I don’t think ANYTHING happened to this lunatic. I don’t believe she was credible. Her muttered tears were completely manufactured and FAKE. Her 12 year old fake voice to sound timid was manufatand directed by her attorneys. I believe her attorneys assisted her in these two weeks to prep her appearance and her FAKE voice. How can you make a statement saying someone is credible that cannot tell you where this incident occurred, when it happened, how she got th re and how many people were there. However she can tell you she had one beer and only one beer. Her “recollection” is FAKE and NOONE did anything to her. I further believe she is delusional and is mentally sick. I wouldn’t have her anywhere near a university I’d have her behind four padded walls. The “woman” is garbage

A couple days ago he did an interview with Martha Maccallum of Fox News where he appeared somewhat passive. This was nothing more than a tactic aimed at LOWERING everyone's expectations of him for the hearing. BRILLIANT!
I agree with you, but we’re not politicians and are not thinking of it in diplomatic terms. They are trying to be nice as they slip the knife into the Democrats, otherwise the voters may take the knife away from them.
They don’t have the luxury of speaking their mind every time like we do.
Perfect example was Kavanaugh today vs the hearings. In the hearings, Harris asks ludicrous, idiotic questions and he has to smile and sheepishly say things like, “I’m trying to be responsive, but I’m confused.”
Today, he interupted DiFi and boldly said, “YOU’RE INTERVIEWING ME, SENATOR!”, when she lamented about not having FBI interviews. And you could almost hear his mind finishing off the sentence with, “...you stupid bit**”
Frankly, I like “nothing to lose” Kavanaugh better than “I must kiss their ass” Kavanaugh.

And my more intelligent side says you are 100% correct but GOD did I want to jump through the TV and give it to this fake manufactured “woman”. She is sick sick sick.....grrrrrr I’m pissed!

This reminds me of one of Margret Thatchers quotes when asked what her job was. Her answer was, “to remain in power until the labor party regains its sanity.”

Her fake voice was so grating. Add this to her distracted space cadet demeanor. Her hair was over her face half the time. I thought she was awful. The best part is she did not present a resume of her life, so to speak.
Kavanaugh came out swinging and promoting his long honorable resume many times. Giving a life summary which was 100x more distinguished than what Blasey Ford has been doing. I was very impressed. As far as Ford’s work goes it seems to be useless psychological research? Frivolous PhDs? Make work jobs for women to inflate their egos and bring in a paycheck.
