The Senate Judiciary Committee will vote on whether to favorably recommend Brett Kavanaugh's nomination to the Supreme Court as previously scheduled Friday morning, though top GOP senators did not know as of Thursday night whether enough key Republican votes had been convinced to confirm President Donald Trump's nominee.
Kavanaugh's supporters and critics are now closely watching a handful of key Republican senators as they decide whether to support the nominee, following a day-long, blockbuster hearing that featured both Kavanaugh and the woman who accused him of sexual assault.
The vote scheduled for Friday morning means undecided GOP members of the committee -- including Arizona Republican Sen. Jeff Flake -- have just hours to publicly choose a side in a deeply polarizing political fight.

At this point Democrats, and so-called “moderate Rs and Ds” are not able to concede their utter defeat.
It will take until the final 56-44 vote on the floor of the Senate in favor of confirmation. They’ll need time, just like their adjustment to Trump.
And they’ll need to have their catharsis with a pussy hat march in 100 cites.
It’s almost like the Republicans were smart enough to set them up for this great fall, even though we know that’s not the case. Republicans are stupid, weak and corrupt.
For now let’s just call it serendipity.
Or the hand of God.
Either way, let’s give thanks for men willing, and able to fight.
Kavanaugh once confirmed will be above the fray and not go after those that have falsely accused him. Nor did Clarence Thomas go after false accusations against him once confirmed. He has been a great justice in the fold of the late Anthony Scalia. However, Thomas only had one discredited accuser. Ford and others have accused others that she claimed where part of the assults and they are angry to say the least. I regret this but that is just they way it is when you are a supreme court judge.
Ford and others have falsely accused others along with Kavanaugh. The others have absolute motive to go after her and the other false accusers. I hope Ford and the others enjoy their place under the bus when the Fienstein Cabal place them under the bus.
They are no longer of value and now a liability to the Feinstein Cabal. They will go under the bus. Most amusing will be what they say while trying to get out from under the bus. As of today, they are dead meat to the Fienstein Cabal. The kindest thing that can be said of Ford is she is delusional and just a pawn of the Feinstein Cabal, otherwise she is just a damn liar. I opt for liar. Those that said Kavanaugh was part of a gang rape are in extreme legal jepordy. They need to be ruined and jailed. I hope they have money to be taken. The reason they are in great danger is naming other names along with Kavanaugh.
The Feinstein Cabal has failed!
When Trump selected Kavanaugh he had two criteria. Criteria one was a strict constitutionlist which Kavanaugh was . The second was a man with an unblemished record in public and private of which Kavanauh was one. The left tried to invent a private life of sordid depravity and this failed.
ps Fienstein is not worthy to clean the toilets in the Senate chambers. She would leave more stained than before cleaning.
Reid did away with the filibuster for judicial nominees.

There is no filibuster for the final vote. There is a still a filobuster against a quick vote. The Dems can delay for a couple of days.

At today’s hearing Dr Ford claimed she had her Polygraph in Maryland on August the 7th, or she was attending her Grandmother Funeral on August the 7th, but on her letter to Feinstein she claimed she was on vacation in the “Mid-Atlantic” on August the 7th. She is a pathological LIAR.

Strongly disagree. I don't want Justice Kavanough to even consider "payback". I just want him to follow the original intent of the Constitution. That's all I've been asking for since I got involved in politics years back. Just follow the original intent that the Founders formulated in their wording of that Document. Nothing more; nothing less.

Yea, like scrutiny of 501s and campaign donations. Especially the idea of politician/family foundations built on campaign-like donations... from abroad. Or the idea of people forced in a lawful manner without destruction of property. Or the idea that secret bank accounts outside your IRS are safe;) That Pedofiles are normal and drugs are managed by city mayors racketeering to harm their own city’s population while they line their own pockets. The rules have changed on many fronts - the people and politicians will now have a different relationship.
Fair enough. But sticking to original intent will be de facto payback. One of the frustrating things for us on the right is that GOP appointees have been such a crapshoot. Some of ‘em have been great (Scalia, Thomas, Alito) while some of ‘em have abandoned the constitution some of the time (Kennedy, O’Connor) or most of the time (Souter). The Demo appointees, on the other hand, dance with the ones who brung ‘em. No one on the left ever worries that RBG, Sotomayor et al will rule against Roe v. Wade, etc.
Mariner, try not to be too despondent when Judge Kavenaugh is confirmed.
