Collins privately raises concerns about new allegations, lack of subpoena for Kavanaugh friend

Sen. Susan Collins, who could determine whether Brett Kavanaugh gets a lifetime seat on the Supreme Court, raised serious concerns at a private meeting about the newest allegations of inappropriate behavior against the nominee -- and questioned why the Senate Judiciary Committee had not subpoenaed a close friend of the federal judge.

Multiple sources familiar with the private Wednesday meeting told CNN that Collins appeared unnerved by the latest allegation, citing in particular that it was a sworn statement sent to the panel, which carries with it the possibility of perjury for lying to Congress.

Let them vote against him. Never pull his nomination. The game needs to be over for these two. If they are what give the Repukes a majority then they don’t have a majority. Let them explain their vote for the rest of their political livea

If Grassley backs down from the Friday vote GOP support will collapse and you can kiss the house goodbye and wouldn’t be surprised if the senate fell too as implossible as that seems.

At that point there no point in being part of either party. Both are worthless.

Collins reminds me of any old, weathered abandoned barn. It has a weathervane on top that now goes this direction, then spins and goes back and then the other way. It’s windy out and it can’t stand still.

That is Collins’ mindset and decision making.

Sorry for this, but GOP strategy in saying “to get the women’s vote we must select a woman” for the senate race should not be so desperate as to take the wrong woman. There are many fine women better than Collins.

And then the GOP will be over for a very long time.
House and Senate.

had not subpoenaed a close friend of the federal judge

Mark Judge has literally written books about his alcoholism, binge drinking and partying during High School (while he was a close friend of Kavanaugh) and College. Questioning him on the stand would be a circus and damaging. Everything he wrote would be projected on Kavanaugh.

They are not going to back down, Trump and Kavanagh have made that clear.

The rest is kabuki theater.

Someone tell that old fool Collins that this is not a trial and that man has no desire to be dragged into this.

It is upon Collins and the other RINOS that the Dims have been preying, with the entire Kavanaugh allegations hoaxes. They KNOW Collins does not have a spine and will NEVER be 1% as concerned about the veracity of the evidence as she will be about the severity of their claims.

Collins and the RINOS have been targets in a shooting gallery with the Dims trying to figure how many shots of unproven scandalous claims they’ll have to make to pick ‘em off. Sitting ducks.

But how can the Murkowski / Collins / Flake women not notice this?

Not one corroborating accuser that is not a loon...

Senator Collins clearly doesn’t have the slightest understanding of basketball...particularly the reason why the “shot clock” was instituted.

Perhaps we need an “Accusations Waiting Period”?

Something like no accusations accepted or even considered if less than 2 weeks before the hearing...:^)

There’ll be even more accusers against Kavanaugh than Roy Moore had, if needed. Soros, the creepy porn lawyer, CNN, etc. probably have at least another dozen already lined up. One at a time to stretch things out as long as possible while wimps like Flake, Collins, and Murkowski turn themselves into pretzels to show “concern”.

“Nobody is this dumb. Senator Collins is complicit.”

And I imagine Senator Collins’ bank account may explode with a few more zeros if she votes against Kavanaugh. The only left to do is for Soros to sign the check.
