Once again, FXs Mayans MC isnt shy about politics. After statements at the border, we now confront border-enforcing white nationalists. For a show the creator swears isnt political, this series is becoming oddly political.
The September 25 episode Murciélago/Zotz opens with a shooting near the Mexican border. Ordinarily, shootings arent anything new on this show. Neither is the fact that the victim carried drugs. What is unique about this episode is the shooter was actually a member of a white nationalist gang. How do we know this? The members have all the cliches including military fatigues, a Confederate flag, and a hatred for illegal immigrants. Theyre pretty much bigger stereotypes than any Mexican on this show.
The characters are not ashamed to call them out, of course. One of the locals complains about their redneck rat patrol firing bullets at the fence. The mayor herself describes their behavior as dropping wetbacks for Uncle Sam. As the episode continues, the Mayans Motorcycle Club investigate the group themselves which leads to this confrontation with their female leader (racist but not sexist, I see).

NON print version for all you rednecks, uh, yahoos that want to see YOUR flag(Does ‘Yahoo’ object to that being used?):
Yep, poor MS-13 members being manipulated by white racists.
"Never forget.....who cleans the houses and cut your grass....."
That would be me dear.
Politically correct motorcycle gang drug dealers and human traffickers. Yah, right. I watched part of the first episode, and turned it off. Garbage and worse.
Here’s another take on the new fbi show:
come on,, everybody I know likes to shoot ‘cans ..
I see what you did there.
As did I. Horrible.
So far “Manifest” is the only new show that I have any inclination to watch.
I’ve watched the first three episodes, and it’s just a SJW mishmash. The hero, a Stanford-bound, poetry-reading, football player is put in prison for killing a dirty cop, but is freed so he can be an informant for some government agency. Utilizing his photographic memory and his brother’s MC-gang connections, he soon is riding with the Mayans, who provide muscle for the demented drug lord, who just happens to be married to the hero’s high school sweetheart.
Had enough yet? But wait, there’s more. Toss in a Mexican anti-narcoterrorist revolutionary gang of poor people and children orphaned by the drug gangs, led by a beautiful woman, slaughter of Samoan gangsters with help of the Mayan’s white allies, the Sons of Anarchy, a dog shelter/drug rehab non-profit run by a wise Latina, and James Edward Ohlmos as the knowing, self-educated, but hard butcher, widower father of the hero.
I haven’t seen this week’s episode yet, but I’m not surprised at the shot at the “white militia”.
The show is even worse crap than SOA was.
At least SOA had a couple of sexual perverts as regulars, and a cameo from Walton Goggins as a transvestite hooker with enormous ...charms.
[Ive watched the first three episodes, and its just a SJW mishmash.]
I’m watching the same show, every episode, and it’s fine. There is very little politics, save the opening theme. So far, the cartels are evil, the MC is a huge compromise, and LEO’s are too. Politicians are puppets.
The victims are children.
So far, so good.
It’s a good show. In fact, the contrast between Sons of Anarchy and Mayans are that God and Family have a place in Mexican MC’s.
Could be way, way worse.
