The founding fathers understood that this is the way elites would always feel about the people. The 1st and 2nd were meant to make it a fair fight. Elites would always control media and would always be allowed to have armies (armed protection and armed enforcement of their rules).
The reasons for eliminating or restricting the 2nd and 1st is to make it an unfair fight when the elites declare “we’ll fight you”.

He walked out of the primary last month as a very surprise winner. He got a ton of free promotion out of it and the media immediately made race hits On DeSantis. Both are new names to most of the electorate. DeSantis can easily win this with a decent campaign. He does need to ramp it up though.
At least he’s not pretending to support the Second Amendment like most Democrats.
If Floriduh elects him, they know what they are getting.
