The woman who has accused Judge Brett M. Kavanaugh of sexually assaulting her when they were teenagers has committed to testify before the Senate Judiciary Committee on Thursday, her lawyers said on Sunday. The lawyers said some details — including whether an outside lawyer will question her — still needed to be resolved, but that those issues would not impede holding a hearing.
The agreement, reached after an hourlong negotiating session Sunday morning between the lawyers and committee aides, is the latest step in a halting process toward a potentially explosive hearing that will pit the woman, Christine Blasey Ford, against Judge Kavanaugh, President Trump’s second nominee to the Supreme Court. On Saturday, the two sides reached a tentative agreement for Dr. Ford to appear on Thursday.
The on-again, off-again talks — with an appointment to the nation’s highest court in the balance — have consumed official Washington, and thrown confirmation proceedings for Judge Kavanaugh, who has vigorously denied Dr. Ford’s allegations, into turmoil. Until last week, Judge Kavanaugh’s confirmation seemed all but assured; that is no longer the case.
A few sticking points between the two sides remain, according to people familiar with the talks. One is who will testify first, Dr. Ford or Judge Kavanaugh. Republicans have rejected the idea that the judge would appear first. But perhaps the biggest sticking point is whether senators on the Judiciary Committee will question Dr. Ford themselves, or use an outside lawyer or a committee aide, most likely a woman.

She ain’t testifying. She will ultimately back out and say that she refused to be bullied by the GOP, submit to their humiliating tactics, be forced to relive the trauma again, blah blah blah.
The weaklings on this committee should have stuck with their Monday hearing and proceeded to vote if she did not show.

Where is Grassley on this. It just says some things have been reached by HER attorneys and aides whom are made up of Difi’s and Grassleys.
I thought Grassley was in charge.
The irony was that she (Ford) wanted to have, not one, but two, lawyers seated at her table to defend and protect her, but did not want ANY lawyers to question her.
I think that was actually lawyer “Katz” idea, as she is not much more than an activist, ambulance-chaser, and knew a real lawyer would tear her to pieces.
I vote for the GOP to use Trey Gowdy, and Judge Jeanine as their questioning lawyers.
Unless it’s all been a ploy, I think strict, direct questioning would make this accuser melt like Silly Putty in a warm room.
Meanwhile, Katz...and their newly added lawyer, are salivating over the notoriety and cash hanging in the balance..
I think he will. They have been more than fair with her and she has overplayed her hand.
The Democrats have made a circus of the role of the senate in conformations. I trust it will circle back at them in the future.

The allegation is of a crime committed by a minor, that a juvenile jumped on a girl and groped her over her clothes.
Consistent with legal proceedings involving juveniles, the proceedings should not be made public and the records sealed as in juvey court.
Society has decided that we should not allow poor decisions that may have been made by juveniles to prejudice their future lives as adults.
Who knows, perhaps this kid Brett will turn out to be a solid contributor to society as an adult?
Grassley should stop this farce, but he has postponed deadlines many times now and continues to negotiate on conditions so he hasn’t inspired that he will stop anything. Even in the hearing, should it occur, how much confidence do we have that he will actually be in charge and crack down when the Democrats cause chaos? He has even described himself as a “second trombone” with Schumer as the conductor.
I nominate Judge Jeanne Pirro to do the questioning.
The Democrats understand that it's very important that the optics be a panel of old white men interrogating a #MeToo "victim" about her teenage sex life.
