The Senate Judiciary Committee is postponing a high-stakes hearing set for early next week on the sexual assault allegation against Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh.
The committee announced on Friday that the Monday hearing where both Kavanaugh and his accuser, Christine Blasey Ford, had been invited to speak was being called off.
Instead, Grassley said in a statement Friday that he is giving Fords lawyers until 10 p.m. on Friday to respond to the GOP request for her to testify on Wednesday. If they do not, or if Ford declines to testify, Grassley said the Judiciary Committee will vote Monday on Kavanaugh's nomination.

Remember, he has to not only be fair, but APPEAR EXCEEDINGLY fair. While NOTHING will satisfy hard core Dhimmi-commies and the liars of the MSM, independents and THINKING Democrats (I know, few and far between) should comprehend how overly fair he is in allowing this additional opportunity.
You are correct! Surprise, the article is wrong. Too late for her. GOOD!
See my post #81...
Because he hasn't threatened a stern letter yet?
And thus the reason for postponement..to make sure he wont be a part of that
yes but what if she agrees to Wednesday then supposedly begins driving and then oops major traffic or oops lost on way and we will need more time to get there...all bullcrap
The emphasis on safety. Democrats in their current state of derangement are not beyond engineering an event at the Wednesday hearing (if it happens) that endangers Dr Ford and that they will blame on Republicans and ride that rhetoric all the way to the November election. The Republicans had better use extreme overkill security measures to make sure this doesn't have even the slightest chance of happening. The delay Democrats want may well be designed to line up huge and violent protests that will be blamed on Republicans.
Yeah, I read that somewhere on Twitter, but cant remember where.
Apparently, A Thursday hearing would have the effect of delaying the vote to a point where even if Kavanaugh were to be approved, he could not be seated.
Makes you wonder what is going on with all of the discussion about the 25th amendment today.
Nicely played Turtle. The Trumps tweet this morning were all we needed to know the votes had already been counted and Grassley could play the string out on this charade.
Freepers need to quite paying attention to CNN, the Time and the Hill.
The GOP has learned a lot watching Trump rope a dope with these leftists.
I think that should cover it. It’s a good, thorough, and direct letter. She won’t testify.

Like I’ve been saying, the Rats are just trying to make it so that when the time comes for the next nominee, they’ll say, “We let you have Kavanaugh, now we want our person.”
If they don't respond by 10 p.m. Friday, Grassley will give them until 10 a.m. on Monday in which case that will be the last chance to respond until 8 a.m. on Wednesday at which time they have until noon to show up or the hearing will be postponed until next Thursday.
Well done!

Agreed. They knew Kav was going to have the votes without some extreme stunt which they had planned for some time.
The next time Trump will roll out Barrett and they’ll howl like wounded wolves. But by then, the GOP margin in the senate will 6 or more seats.
MAGA
SHADES of Obama’s Red Lines!
Of course. All day, the media have characterized the Whelan conjecture as “an unfounded theory”. Of course it was, but her redacted letter, as leaked to the Washington Post, was an “evidence free, unfounded allegation. Whelan’s theory is at least as credible as her crazy allegation. Whose right? I think that the behavior of the Democrats tell us that Whelan is right and she wrong, and is a typical emotional disturbed Democrat activist who believes that if Kavanaugh is confirmed she will lose all of the easy money that she gets from the abortion pill company.
She needs money, she can’t afford where she lives. My kids live there. They own their own tech company. They can’t afford to buy a house and they pay $7000 a month for a 70’s era suburban house that hasn’t been renovated for decades.
Right. As if driving across the country is a safe way to travel. LOL.
The only thing this story is missing right now is a laugh track.
