Kavanaugh opposition loses steam as his accuser balks at testifying
Fox News ^ | September 20, 2018

After the nation was riveted by the Senate testimony of Anita Hill and Clarence Thomas, the Supreme Court nomination came to a vote. Democrats controlled the Senate. Joe Biden had chaired the hearings.

And yet Thomas was confirmed, with 11 Democrats joining 41 Republicans to provide the margin of victory (and two Republicans voting against him).

That would be inconceivable today. The hyperpartisan nature of today’s politics would never allow so many Democrats to defect in favor of a Republican president's nominee, one who was not only extremely conservative but had faced a last-minute accusation of sexual harassment.

When the opposition does not see any negatives in pursuing the story. Why not go for it?

She was expected to sink Kavanaugh with just the accusation.

To mount any defense whatsoever is sexist and obvious proof of deep-seated hatred of women.

This is pretty much the same approach that’s taken by colleges and universities in their rape court proceedings.

Finally, some sanity.

Tired of pathetic attempts to sabotage an awesome man.

Vote, Just Do It!

I would hold the hearing anyhow and give Kavanaugh the floor to defend himself. “High Tech Lynching” was Clarence Thomas’ finest moment.

No. Vote now. Subpoena later. A delay is a disaster. A 4-4 SC until next year.

Kavanaugh should be suing her for slander.

The fact that he hasn't confessed is proof of his guilt.

Whats wrong. Dr. ford doesn’t want to testify under oath?

The so called sacred Me Too liberal fascist pu$$y whipping of Kavanaugh’s procedural due process rights, guaranteed by the 5th and 14th amendments is over?

Next time you dem lefty liberal fascist gurls, bring more than just pu$$y to a constitutional process. What a collective of skanks, Feinstein, and Hirono foremost.

HOLD THE VOTE!

Dimwads will keep doing this, and worse, if there are never any consequences for their behavior.

Ford is wasting tax payer time and money tieing our elected officials up with talking of and or looking into this matter that seems now to be mistake or intentionally wrong accusation against Kavanaugh.

I say she should be held responsible for paying back all the expense to tax payers. And is she won’t pay it should be put on those who helped her.

She’ll say she was intimidated by Republicans not to testify.

Judge Thomas: Senator, I would like to start by saying unequivocally, uncategorically, that I deny each and every single allegation against me today that suggested in any way that I had conversations of a sexual nature or about pornographic material with Anita Hill, that I ever attempted to date her, that I ever had any personal sexual interest in her, or that I in any way ever harassed her.

A second, and I think more important point. I think that this today is a travesty. I think that it is disgusting. I think that this hearing should never occur in America. This is a case in which this sleaze, this dirt, was searched for by staffers of members of this committee, was then leaked to the media, and this committee and this body validated it and displayed it at prime time over our entire nation. How would any member on this committee, any person in this room, or any person in this country, would like sleaze said about him or her in this fashion? Or this dirt dredged up and this gossip and these lies displayed in this manner? How would any person like it?

The Supreme Court is not worth it. No job is worth it. I am not here for that. I am here for my name, my family, my life, and my integrity. I think something is dreadfully wrong with this country when any person, any person in this free country would be subjected to this.

This is not a closed room. There was an FBI investigation. This is not an opportunity to talk about difficult matters privately or in a closed environment. This is a circus. It's a national disgrace.

And from my standpoint as a black American, as far as I'm concerned, it is a high-tech lynching for uppity blacks who in any way deign to think for themselves, to do for themselves, to have different ideas, and it is a message that unless you kowtow to an old order, this is what will happen to you. You will be lynched, destroyed, caricatured by a committee of the U.S. -- U.S. Senate, rather than hung from a tree.

There is a rumor going around that Feinstein received a letter from Christine Ford back during the Gorsuch confirmation hearings accusing him of the exact same thing.

BREAKING: According to sources Diane Feinstein's reluctance to mention the Kavanaugh accuser's letter during confirmation session is because the accuser sent a similiar letter directed at Judge Gorsuch last year. The whereabouts of the earlier letter remain a mystery.developing

He doesn’t need to defend himself. He can give a pablum report to the committee and reference his sorrow for the girl and link it to binge drinking as quoted in the yearbook. Parents and schools should play a better role in the proper development of young impressionable minds, realizing the lifetime mental issues that can be caused by binge drinking.

How many times did Lanny Davis go on TV and say "there's no poof!" and everyone nodded their head and loved it.

in another direction, WE are good people and would not try to seek revenge or try to destroy her. If we did we would regret and be remorseful

The left does this relentlessly. They have no shame.

Anita Hill left the scene far better than Justice Thomas? She is not labeled as a liar by most of America.

Actually, Christine Ford's vacuous, vague and unsupportable charges remind me more of Crystal Mangum than of Anita Hill.
