Not surprised. I think part of the reason for the Animal House charge against Kavanaugh is to give cover for senators from Trump states like McCaskill to vote no.

This has been McCaskill’s plan all along. She believes that she will collect enough votes from Kansas City and St. Louis together with the Lefties in Columbia to overcome the rest of the state. I think that she may be surprised.
