Judge Brett Kavanaugh said Monday he is willing to talk to Congress to defend himself against startling allegations of attempted sexual assault in high school — and vehemently denied every part of the accusation.
The allegations were made by Christine Blasey Ford, a California professor who as a high school student in the 1980s knew the judge and says he attempted to force himself on her at a party.
The accusation has upended Republicans’ push for quick confirmation of Judge Kavanaugh to the Supreme Court. The Judiciary Committee was slated to vote on Thursday, but Democrats and one key Republican have said that can’t happen until the Senate can learn more.
Ms. Ford’s lawyer says she is willing to appear to testify — though it’s not clear what setting she is willing to appear for.
Judge Kavanaugh, in a statement released by the White House, said he, too, is willing to clear things up — though he didn’t use the word “testify.”

The next time the Republicans nominate someone for a critical position, they ought to add “The #MeToo bimbo eruption will begin in 5 . . .4 . . .3 . . “
Then mention how prescient the were when the women start coming out of the woodwork.
This could hurt, though, if she developed into a slut after what she claims was a traumatic incident. If she was already one at age 15, then that impacts her credibility. Using such evidence will get the feminists all worked up, though. We supposedly aren’t allowed to defend allegations by claiming the woman was a slut.
I believe this was made up out of whole cloth. I doubt the woman was at a party with Kavanaugh or that he knew her when she was 2 years younger than him. Most likely, all she knows is that he attended Georgetown Prep while she was at her girls school. That was all she needed to create this hoax. What this shows is how absolutely clean Kavanaugh. The left would have looked hard for women who have clerked for him as a judge. They would have looked within the Bush admin. They would have looked hard in the places he worked in the 90s. No luck.
So then they would have looked into his college days and came up dry. Frustrated, they were left with their final option: High school. Again, no luck. 60 women who knew him then were willing to attest to his stellar character. So they had to widen the search, and found a woman a couple years younger who was a leftist activist. They approached her and asked if she would be willing to help them take down the person who would overturn Roe v Wade. “Of course” she replied. “What do I have to say?” And that is how we got here.
JUsge K has a slew of female friends who have come forward to support him. Surely one of them at least knew of this woman. All it would take was one statement that they weren’t friends with her because “she was known by her reputation which was less than stellar!”
End game
The message here is not just to Kavanaugh, it is to anyone who might be nominated for the next opening. Just as what Mueller has done to Manafort and to Cohen sends a message to anyone who would dare to work for Trump in a campaign or for his administration that their life could be destroyed, so this tells those 25 people on Trump’s list that the Democrats will make something up about them that will make people wonder if they really did it. So there may be some good people who will decline next time.
The question is what will the left dredge up about a female nominee? That will force them to get creative. They will have to look for plagiarism or financial problems or something. They’ll figure out something.
