Sen. Chuck Grassley (R-Iowa), the chairman of the Judiciary Committee, is working to set up separate phone calls with Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh and his accuser, Christine Blasey Ford, before a committee vote scheduled for Thursday.
"Given the late addendum to the background file and revelations of Dr. Ford’s identity, Chairman Grassley is actively working to set up such follow-up calls with Judge Kavanaugh and Dr. Ford ahead of Thursday’s scheduled vote," a spokesman for Grassley said on Sunday.
The aide added that "the Chairman and Ranking Member routinely hold bipartisan staff calls with nominees when updates are made to nominees’ background files."
The announcement comes after Ford spoke publicly about her accusation that Kavanaugh sexually assaulted her in the early 1980s, while they were both in high school, in an interview with The Washington Post published on Sunday.
Ford, in the interview, alleged that Kavanaugh pinned her to a bed at a party and forced himself on her. Ford told the Post that Kavanaugh "groped her over her clothes, grinding his body against hers and clumsily attempting to pull off her one-piece bathing suit and the clothing she wore over it."

She didn’t report it. There was no basis on which to verify the incident by the authorities for something that occurred over 30 years ago. This would never be admissible in a court of law.
Your political instincts are terrible. She could be presented with irrefutable evidence that she’s lying, and the old white Republican men who expose her as a liar will be on the losing end in terms of political optics.

DiFi just set all her fellow fascist democrats up to be hoist on their own petard again. Just like it took a few years for the "Nuclear Option" to come back and haunt them this may take a few years as well or it could start happening this election season. It really depends on how many people who know how to really dig up information realize what an opening they've just been given.
It's also going to do a lot of damage to the democrat bureaucrats who think they're safely buried parts of the permanent government. One or two leaks and whole departments could suddenly have a reason to fire the now nearly untouchable scum who believe that they can obstruct the will of the voters.
