Reports that a Blackhawk helicopter and federal agents swooped in and inexplicably evacuated a remote part of New Mexico, including a prominent solar observatory, has some corners of the internet predictably atwitter about a possible alien coverup.

Yes - if they would have driven the major plot forward instead of doing a bunch of silly stand-alone episodes. They wasted the opportunity for the most part.

We used to use some "unlisted" satellites for tracking calibration on our ground station antennas. They had extremely elliptical orbits.
Did not show up on the usual satellite databases. We knew what frequencies to tune to for tracking, how I have no idea.

There is an equally powerful solar telescope at Kitt Peak in Arizona. No such “evacuation” there? This is a local security issue. I think you're right - but what kind of 'security issue' could it be? Any idea?
