Have you heard about the airliner which was ordered back to the gate on 9/11 when the terrorist attacks began, only to have four young Arab passengers jump off the plane, after which box cutters and Al Qaeda documents were found in their abandoned bags?
I’ve heard that story before, but since it was never reported by the U.S. government, and not mentioned by the 9/11 Commission in their official report, I thought it might be another of those urban myths. Until now. Yesterday’s Wilmington (Delaware) News-Journal featured a front-page article on the Delaware Air National Guard’s first female general, Carol Timmons, who was promoted to that rank at a ceremony on Saturday. General Timmons has had a long career as a pilot, including time as a commercial pilot for Pan Am and United Airlines. The profile of General Timmons recounts that on the morning of September 11, 2001, she was the first officer on United Airlines flight 23 preparing to take-off from New York’s JFK Airport bound for Los Angeles. The plane had already pulled away from the gate and was taxiing down the runway when the airport was shut down and the crew was ordered to secure the cockpit. Timmons confirmed that as the pilot grabbed the crash ax, she jumped from her seat and started barricading the cockpit door. From the other side of the barricade the cabin crew relayed their concern about four young Arab men in first-class who became agitated when the take-off was cancelled, and fled from the plane when it returned to the terminal. Box cutters and Al Qaeda documents were later found in their luggage. Timmons, the pilot, and the rest of the crew were repeatedly questioned by the FBI, though the findings were never shared. The pilot concluded that Flight 23 would have been the next plane hijacked by terrorists if the airport shutdown order had been delayed.
“The FBI asks questions,” General Timmons is quoted as saying, “They don’t tell you things.”
Why wouldn’t the U.S. government want to report the incident? Why didn’t the 9/11 Commission mention it in their official report? Were they concerned about panicking the public? Were they trying to apprehend the four passengers who fled? Why maintain official silence about the incident a decade later?
Thought some others would be interested.
So between the two, Flight 93 (PA crash) and this one the targets could have been both the White House and Congress?

No wonder it wasn’t hijacked.
It should be clear to everyone by now that the FBI and government agencies can't be trusted. They operate for the good of the Deep State and "New World Order" and not for the benefit of the American people.
The FIB had these guys on their watch list to be swiftly swooped out of the US and back to SA along with the other Saudi jihad proponents who were assisted in leaving town shortly after 9/11?

How did they flee the plane? I would have thought that, given their suspicious behavior and the general situation, the plane plane doors would have been kept closed until agents could have questioned the travelers.

"We turned right so our tail was facing the city and we couldn't see the city."As they sat there, Timmons said news of what was happening began to come over her and the pilot's radio, including an order from the ground controller for every plane to stop where they were and another to barricade the door to the cockpit.
"It was a very difficult thing to do," she said, adding that she regretted leaving the flight attendants in the rear of the plane to deal with whatever.
Timmons was able to tune into a local AM station on one of the radios and play it over the PA system so passengers would know what was going on as well. Then at approximately 9:20, the traffic control tower announced that the airport was being evacuated and all planes were left to figure out how to get back to their departure gates.
"When we turned to taxi back to the gate, I could see that the Twin Towers were on fire -- I can still see that pretty clearly," she said.
It was shortly after arriving at the gate that a flight attendant alerted the pilots that a few of the passengers were unusually agitated that the plane was not taking off after all.
As soon as we opened the doors, those guys were off, she said.
"It was total chaos at the airport and they just disappeared," Timmons said of the two men. Investigators would later find evidence of links to al Qaida in their abandoned bags aboard the aircraft.
First time I've heard about this.
I wonder what the FBI did (or did not) find out about those that took off abandoning their bags with w/AQ linked stuff.
Yet another FBI failure?
1.The fbi had thier smoking hole and the trail left behind by the ones who crashed the plane. 2. The highjackers had plans to abort and run home if it did not work or if this true they may have used thier escape route effectively. A lot of information holes in this article to be able to speculate any further.
After 9/11 I firmly believed that the FBI & CIA were nothing more than a bunch of keystone cops IDIOTS all of them!!! I remember standing in front of the TV in my restaurant repeating how the HELL could this happen in our country I was truly in disbelief!!! Those two agencies from that day on were DEAD to me NEVER to have redeemed themselves, and NOW we realize just the kind of things they were doing that kept them from doing their ACTUAL JOBS!!!!

I think, that before the muslim attacks on America (I refuse to write n-nn), airlines usually treated such incidents as possible hijackings and it was thought the best way was to just let things play out.

In hindsight, think of all the new surveillance tools they received. Never let a crisis go to waste.
Did you hear on the radio a report that the military shot down a passenger jet?
Their REAL JOB is obviously to use ALL of their investigative skills to watch EVERY Republican administration, my heart truly went out to GWB that day, can’t stand the guy now, but on that day he had the FULL WEIGHT of this country AND her safety on his shoulders!!! He certainly couldn’t count on the KEYSTONE COPS!!!! He and the military that was it!!!!
I heard about it just after it happened.
I was a flight attendant at that time and we also heard stories of box cutters being found in seat back pockets.
I wrote of my friend who had several muslim men on her flight that got turned back to the gate. She spoke with each passenger individually as it was taking a while to get gate space. The muslim men weren’t seated together but they all had the same reaction. While the other passengers were nice and understanding, the three muslim men each pursed their lips and slowly turned their heads away from her and angrily looked out the window. They were all seated far apart from each other in an attempt to look like they weren’t together.
