A woman and two men were charged after the mayor of a small North Carolina town and his wife were found murdered in their home, police said.

Dakeithia Nesha Andrews, 30, was the third person arrested in connection with the deaths of Leggett Mayor Gary Skelton and his wife, Jackie Skelton, The Charlotte Observer reported. The Edgecombe County Sheriff’s Office said Saturday that Andrews was charged with conspiracy robbery with a dangerous weapon and is being held on $100,000 bond.

Keith Earl Williams, 25, and Mitchell Brinson, 18, were charged with first-degree murder on Friday.

The fellows in G’ville held a knife to my neck from behind the seat and then discussed what to do with me while contemplating some bushes. I didn’t like the look of that and told them the y were supposed to lock me in the trunk which they did. The police got there and got me out in about twenty minutes and already had the perps, picked up trying to rob a convenience store. I guess they dign’t think what I had to offer was enough.

The mayor and his wife were originally from Georgia, and relocated to NC (retirement?). He was "mayor" of a very small town, only a few dozen houses and about 100 people.

And most of the lynchings were in relation to accusations of serious crimes like rape and murder.

I'm going to guess that most lynchings were along the lines of "caught in the act, why bother with a trial", rather than racist hate. The average number per year is fairly tiny. If lynchings were because southerners were full of racist hate, the numbers would have been hundreds of times higher.

Time for the public to protect themselves until the authorities take their jobs seriously again.

It seems as if the Judicial System doesn't want to implement a "distasteful" solution, so they release them back into the public, where hopefully, some CCW citizen will do their job for them.

In the meantime, releasing the names of the parole board/judge involved in their release would be a public service.
