President Trump in a tweet on Sunday knocked the NFL over lower ratings for its first game of the season.
"Wow, NFL first game ratings are way down over an already really bad last year comparison," the president said, referring to last Thursday night's matchup between the Falcons and Eagles. "Viewership declined 13%, the lowest in over a decade."
"If the players stood proudly for our Flag and Anthem, and it is all shown on broadcast, maybe ratings could come back? Otherwise worse!" he added.

Usually with the volume down. Right now, the Fran Sancisco 69ers are playing some other America-hating team so I have my TV tuned to Unimas for a soccer match between Francia and Holanda. Whatever the hell those are. I'm pretty sure one of them is some sort of alcoholic concoction.
They played the national anthems of both teams. The players on both sides not only stood for their country's national anthem, many appeared to sing or at least lip-sync the lyrics.
The team from Francia not only sang it heartily, but the crowd practically sang it at the top of their lungs.

Agreed; i don’t think the damage can be undone. And then there’s the concussion problem; i don’t know a parent at work who will let their kid play HS football. That is a MUCH larger problem.

Actually, football is dying from the bottom up. Fewer and fewer parents are allowing their young boys play football. Thereby, both number of players and fan interest will continue to decline. The only thing that can save football is physics defying helment that will totally protect the brain from injury. I don’t see any such helment on the horizon. So, good bye football...
My family is mad at me. I dropped out of the Family Fantasy league. First year in my memory that I will do NOTHING NFL.
I don't understand so called patriots who still support that crap by watching them and going to their games. Had a friend call and ask me if I wanted to go watch one of these teams in CA at their practice location....It left a bad taste in my mouth...I never called him back. Made me disgusted with him.
Yes, football is a candle burning at both ends. Already pee-wee and middle school level teams are folding due to not enough players. Soon, it will be high school teams. Its only eight years between a high school freshman and a pro draft pick. Football can collapse quickly.
Immediately dropped NFL like a hot rock once crapernick started pulling this sh!t and it spread to other players on other teams. Haven’t watched even one play since and I got rid of all my new England gear.
