Thirteen years ago, a pair of ruby slippers from the 1939 movie The Wizard of Oz were stolen from a Minnesota museum. Now, the FBI says the search is over.
It was a classic smash-and-grab in August 2005: Some unknown thief or thieves broke in through the back door of the Judy Garland Museum in Grand Rapids, Minn., and swiped the slippers, reportedly leaving nothing but broken glass and a single red sequin in their wake.

Better article. But huge print of shoes!
Nice to know that they’re on top of the important stuff.
The FBI was looking for these shoes?
I really do hope that’s a joke.
Well, isn’t that Special.. NPR?
Sessions....they found your nightie slippers.
Hillary is coming for those... unless someone melts her
Now I can sleep tonight.
Amazing, but the whole Bureau couldn’t find Benghazi for a year, couldn’t locate the IRS, couldn’t find the Mexico border and the DOJ gunrunning operation, couldn’t find Benghazi Clinton’s mail servers to review for classified materials, etc. Probably spent millions to find some shoes .... I guess half the FBI will be requesting performance bonuses!!!!
ruby slippers and super bowl rings..thats our fibbers in action!
Important gay religious icon
Sequin slippers? How about we find the ruby ones.
Josh Gates did an episode on this a few months ago with a local detective who had reopened the cold case. It was hoped that since the time limit to prosecute the thief the slippers might be returned. As I recall the episode ended with the detective trying to follow up on a contact reporting that they had them and were interested in returning them for a nice reward. My guess is the FBI had little or nothing to do with the recovery of the slippers and probably just swooped in and took credit for a local detectives efforts. After all the FBI is too busy managing election outcomes to do actual crime solving.
As this was not the pair from the Smithsonian, it wasn’t even their job.
It was a job for a private dick. Rent a detective.
All they had to do was click their heels together three times!
The Keystone cops have more sense than these clowns. A bunch of Chinese agents get killed, and these ass hats 🎩 have their collective heads up and locked.
