While watching the Kavanaugh hearings during the last few days, I'm impressed by the fact that the democrats are basically calling for our constitution to be dissolved.
Got news for them. The central government was never intended by our Founders or the constitution to be a provider of health, education, housing, welfare, etc. In fact, the powers of the federal government are restricted to only those powers actually enumerated in the constitution and all other powers are reserved to the states and the people.
Regarding the democrat parade of victims and sob stories: If you are broke or sick, unable to get a job, unable to get an education, unable to afford birth control or abortions or medicine, unable to find a doctor, are a victim of a crime, victim of offensive language, etc, it's not a federal issue. You need to find a private charity or go to a community, county, state agency or clinic, pro bono legal service, etc, to help you with your personal problems.
And, no, the New Deal and the Great Society, etc, did not [legally] abolish the constitution, even though the democrats [and some RINOs] wish that were true.
Likewise, SCOTUS rulings, precedent, slippage in societal mores, common usage, current understanding, etc., does not abolish or amend the constitution.
It's going to take a whole lot more than the above for our sick democrat society to abolish the first and second amendments, and or do away with our constitution.
And when they try, they'd best bring their lunch... and a lantern, because it's going to be a long day.
Nearly every assault on the Constitution you itemize can be traced to the 17th Amendment.
Yup. The 17th pulled the constitutional legs out from under the state governments and the states have effectively lost their so-called “equal representation” to the federal government and have consequently lost many of the constitutional rights and powers formerly reserved to them by the constitution.
