The Senate Judiciary Committee hearing for Judge Brett Kavanaugh will be cut short Wednesday, after Senate Democratic leader Chuck Schumer, D-N.Y., blocked Republican efforts to keep questioning the nominee until late in the day.
Schumer objected to Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell’s request for the committee to continue meeting after 2 p.m., meaning the Supreme Court confirmation hearings could bleed into next week.
The move is the latest clash between the parties in what has been a contentious hearing process.

Crazy as they were then, the current dem party makes the party in 1972 look like it was being led by George Washington himself. They've broken all prior records on crazy levels over the last 150 years.
They've gone so far, at the highest levels of their party now, that I don't see how they ever walk it back. It's sort of like the fistfights breaking out in the congress during the 1850s, the situation wasn't going to just sort itself out after that and go back to being a reasonable debate society that disagrees but accepts the will of the majority. One side or the other was going to have to be crushed in a ruinous war, and one was. Let's hope that it never comes to that again.
Another article says that McConnell turned the tables & just adjourned Senate for the day..the confirmation hearing will continue.

I don't know about that. He appears hesitant, somewhat uncertain of things (maybe confused), and at one point during the disruptions appeared to take advice from Dianne Feinstein (sitting directly on his left) though he did cover the microphone.
