For the clusters of onlookers, besuited power players and three former presidents who had all traveled to Washington National Cathedral, the muggy day was a historic opportunity to memorialize the life of Senator John McCain, who was remembered as a deeply patriotic war hero, a former Republican presidential candidate and a scrappy, humanly flawed, ultimately idealistic lawmaker.
For President Trump, it was Saturday.
In the many discussions about how to mark his life that Mr. McCain had with his staff and family before he died, he had made clear he did not want Mr. Trump to participate in anything they planned. So as Mr. McCain was eulogized in the presence of much of the American political establishment, Mr. Trump, pointedly uninvited, engaged in what by now is a familiar weekend routine. He sent a series of angry tweets aimed at some political adversaries, then left the White House to play a round of golf at his resort in Virginia.

>>Washington Mourned John McCain. President Trump Played Golf.<<
Washington, including the Ministry of Propaganda, played all the political angles as expected. NOBODY “mourned” McCain with the possible exception of a few of his family members. Most everyone else in America was elated to be rid of that evil little sh*t.
Good for The President! I did the same thing!!!!!
How many funeral services and speeches does one man need? The whole thing was overblown, and much of the pro-McCain “love” was just hatred for Donald Trump.
I would bet he had more fun any any of the swamp critters at the funeral. I hope he had a good round.
Hah!
He said it and a few seconds later when he was questioned about it, he modified his remarks. But the MSM doesn’t talk about the modification.
Trump burst McCain’s bubble of being the “great hero”, an image McCain foisted on us for decades. Trump revealed the little man behind the green curtain.
And for that reason, McCain went beserk and his rage probably shortened his life.
Washington Mourned McCain
The rest of America....not so much.
“Am I off the mark here?”
I think you are over thinking it. The South can be excessive in speaking well of the most useless villains who have finally up and died, bless their hearts. It is just a thing that we do.
Also, many like the warmongering, and took, and take, any neoconartist’s cries for bloodshed as some weird ritual requirement for American strength. It’s dead wrong, but it is there.
McCain was at his best incompetent, at his worst, demonic. What I did find cheering was the signal sent by those who lowered the flags just tiny touch. Fulfills all requirements.
The Left refuses to learn from their mistakes, and this gives The Right many more political advantages and many more opportunities for political victories.
He’s dead, and Trump still had few bogies today.
Just hours after the deaths of 4 Americans in Benghazi, 0bama jetted off to Las Vegas for a fundraiser. Did the loons on the left get their panties in a wad over that?
The garrison size flags I saw were lowered full half staff till they were touching RV & trailer roofs.
A flag dipping only slightly below the truck only shows the incompetence of the one who failed to raise it to full staff.
It’s a culture war and it is the beginning of CWII.
President Trump did the right thing avoiding it. Their behavior was despicable.
Most Americans were tired of the Marxist State Media’s pimping of McCain after the first day. Brought back the sad sick memories of Slow Joe Biden dragging his dead son around on the speaking tour for months.
Oh, come on.
more bs crap, what’s going on with FR? I can read this crap all day long on just about anywhere, why here?
What did they expect him to do, stay home and pout? Crawl over glass for making them mad?
he should have invited Sarah Palin to golf with him!
“...Sarah Palin over for dinner? (She was disinvited too.)”
What a cheap, mean shot from someone who publicly diminished himself every year.
So glad our President can also play some golf and McCain can’t do much of anything now. MAGA!!
Trump wasnt invited. What do they want to do, erect a shrine to John McCain and light candles??
