Phil Bredesen, the health insurance executive turned governor, had an antidote to contain the spiraling costs of the states Medicaid program disenroll elderly, sick and disabled Tennesseans from TennCare.
According to Gordon Bonnyman, co-founder of the Tennessee Justice Center, two years into Bredesens first term as governor, [a]pproximately 200,000 of [TennCares] costliest patients lost their coverage over a four-month period in late 2005. Bonnyman characterized this group as the sickest subgroup of the TennCare population.
The TNReport calculated that by the time Bredesen left office in 2011, approximately 350,000 Tennesseans were cut from TennCare which included an estimated 100,000 people with disabilities.
At the same time that Tennesseans were losing their TennCare coverage, refugees being resettled in the state were being assisted by refugee resettlement contractors to enroll into TennCare...

Wow, and we were warned this wouldn’t happen. That it was all just some “slippery slope”?. Guess it wasn’t.
Governor Phil Bredesen is a Democrat.
The article never says he is a Democrat....
Surprise, surprise!
Notice how the article never mentioned that he’s a democrat.
Thank you, I was wondering which party.
Refugees are by treaty entitled to welfare benefits.
“Convention and Protocol Relating to the Status of Refugees”
Article 23
public relief
The Contracting States shall accord to refugees lawfully staying in their territory the same treatment with respect to public relief and assistance as is accorded to their nationals.

To get the United States out of this highly abused Convention, Republicans, while they still control Congress, need to invoke Article 44:
Article 44 denunciation
1. Any Contracting State may denounce this Convention at any time by a notification addressed to the Secretary-General of the United Nations.
2. Such denunciation shall take effect for the Contracting State concerned one year from the date upon which it is received by the Secretary-General of the United Nations....
I guess we have death panels.
Thanks OddLane.
That's the media's MO.
Yes, my bad, LOL!
Those of us with family & friends in or near Nashville know d@mn well what Phil Bredesen is. And we know that parts of Nashville are turning into Muslim you-know-whats. In fact there is an Islamic Triangle consisting of Nashville, Shelbyville, and Murfreesboro (the mega mosque). Our Somali problem isn’t as bad as Minnesota’s but it’s growing.
Bredesen has pandered to muzzies for years. Meanwhile just for giggles, google “anti muslim Tennessee”. You will read volumes about the poor persecuted Mohammedans of the Volunteer State!
No problem!
I did a write-up for my now dormant website, American Rattlesnake.
Didn’t know that. I thought as muzzies go Kurds aren’t the worst of the bunch & they were on our side in the ME.
Annd welcome to socialism. Feel the Bern.

The Tennessee Star is NOT a liberal rag. It is the alternative to the Pravda on the Cumberland (Tennessean). Everyone in Tennessee knows Bredesen is a Rat.
Lots of Kurds in Tennessee. They are extremely liberal as Muslims go. Most of their women don’t cover their heads and dress like typical western women, maybe a bit more modestly.
Bredsen can restore TennCare to financial health by removing all chronic or seriously sick and disabled people from coverage. The Democrat Eugenics Office would then be able to chalk up a major success as defective breeders more quickly exit the gene pool.
