Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer, D-N.Y., intends to introduce a resolution in the Senate to rename a Senate office building after the late Sen. John McCain, he announced Saturday.
McCain, R-Ariz., died Saturday at 81 following his battle with brain cancer. His death comes after the senators family announced Friday he would be discontinuing medical treatment.
Schumer, along with other congressional leaders, praised McCain for his service in the military and the Senate, as well as his patriotism and courage.

I would have no objection to the renaming of the building provided it is renamed the Senate Whore John S. McCain III Building.
“Pretty cynical to immediately use his death to try and change the name of something you dont like...”
Dem 101: Never let a crisis go to waste.
Disgusting comment.
Will the ATM in the lobby be named after Charles Keating?
Given how corrupt he was, and how much he hated America (or was he ‘turned’ in the POW camp?), renaming the Senate building after him would be ironically fitting, wouldn’t it?
Russell was a senatorial giant McCain a greedy dwarf. In light of events unfolding every day the sentiments of the Southern Manifesto, which addressed the need for state’s rights, seem much less wrong than ten or fifteen years ago.
‘The Songbird John Building’?
‘The Songbird John Building’?
All this praise and glorification from the left. I’d love to see a montage of all the hate spewed at him by these same people when McCain was running against obama.
Why not? Nothing ever gets done there anyway. It would only add to the contemptible cache of the Senate.
I thought everybody already called it the “John”.
Schumer finally has someone to replace that segregationist Dim Russel’s name on the Senate Office Building.
This is one of those things that BLM never got around to protesting, probably because Russel’s name was being protected by the Dims.
Should rename Obamacare to McCaincare.
Actually we need to put all this renaming crap behind us.
I have renamed several small buildings on the mall mccains . They are the numerous port o cans. From now on, I will tell my wife. wait here dear, I have to use the mccain.
Instead of the Steele Dossier lets rename it the McCain Dossier. That would more appropriate and accurate.
Oh puke! I am so tired of these politicians being held up as noble, public servants. They end up multi-millionaires, with pensions and perks far beyond what we peasants get. Then they have the audacity to demand we fawn over them, discuss their supposed legacies, and name buildings after them. Mencken had it right - there is no more public service in politicians than there is in street walkers or burglars.
The best we can hope for is that this whole event gets over and done with as soon as possible.
