McCain leaves a legacy of standing up for his beliefs Holly BaileyNational Correspondent,Yahoo News•August 26, 2018 Scroll back up to restore default view. At first, John McCain couldn’t hear what some of his supporters were yelling. The roar of the crowd often made it too loud to hear anything, and he was already hard of hearing in his left ear, a condition that dated to his days as a Navy pilot and no doubt worsened because of the beatings he suffered during his 5½ years as a prisoner of war in Vietnam.

But in the fall of 2008, during his second bid for the presidency, the Arizona senator could tell that the crowds at his town halls were getting more rowdy — something he normally didn’t mind. The town hall was McCain’s preferred way to campaign; it was the format he felt allowed him to truly connect with voters, where people could see who he was, for better or worse. For months, McCain’s aides had been trying to talk him into holding more traditional events, such as scripted speeches, where he could avoid gaffes that could be seized upon by his opponents. But the candidate stubbornly refused.

What’s the story behind that photo?
Did they just finish a debate?
Sometimes McCain could be humorous, and I could see him clowning it up right after a tense, highly watched presidential debate was finally concluded.

Barack, stayed in character. Not gonna let his hair down in front of this crazy old man. “Valerie would have my hide!”

My money is on Ben Sasse. He seems like enough of an arrogant prick to take the mantle.

This article is pure BS!!!! McCain hid from Arizonans whenever he could. He almost never appeared in public and when he did it would be some last minute stupid event in Sun City (lots of Rat gullible senior citizens).

He didn’t give a d@mn about his constituents, he was too busy being a Trump-bashing fake news attention whore.

He especially went into hiding after DJT was elected. I went to the August 2017 Trump rally in Phoenix. There were 19,000 of us at the rally. There was thunderous sustained booing when McCain’s name was mentioned a couple of times. McCain knew he was a hated man, and he was hated for good reasons.

I was visiting friends who lived in Phoenix some years back.

I happened to hear McCain on the Radio being by a Local Talk Show Host. The way he was going on, you would have thought Ronald Reagan had come back to life.

That being said, RIP Senator McCain.

He stopped the repeal of Obamacare.

RazörFist @RAZ0RFIST 12m12 minutes ago

If I'm not mistaken, [stopping the repeal of Obamacare] was his last proper action in the Senate as well. McCain basically farted, locked all the windows and doors, and left the room. He gave the entire country the biggest Dutch Oven in human history.

One of his beliefs was to sell his American brothers out in Vietnam by singing like a “ song bird” on every government secret he knew. After that, the sorry POC made propaganda films for the communist which you can watch on you yube to this day!! Of recent outrage was his overt blatant support of Isis in Syria against the legitimate government of sovereign Syria and his failed attempts to get us to invade that sovereign country which we will never tolerate. I said this while he was alive and nothing has changed

Romney is more pro life and he will lead that charge against potential liberal judges. McCain was socially liberal. Romney is socially conservative. if romney goes liberal in his policies .. it will shock Utah. if he fights against pro life, they will turn on him. It won’t happen. Romney is pro life and his constituents are conservative.

He was a low life who was on the grift, the scam, the betrayal, all his life. He caused countless deaths in Ukraine and Syria. Cheated on his wife because she was disfigured in a bad car wreck though she waited on him when he was a POW for years. He carpetbagged his way into a seat in Congress where he immediately belittled people searching for the MIAs. Married a rich woman. Took bribes in the Keating 5 then ratted on his co-defendants. Belittled Sarah Palin after she took the arrows for him time and again.
Flipped America the finger and made a big joke about it when he cast the final vote to save Obamacare...which he did solely to spite Trump.

Last, when he got the diagnosis, he went to his grave without a single classy moment. He sunk his claws into his seat like a shrew and kept up his bitter attacks on America. Not a word of tenderness, kindness, magnanimity, reverence, or anything.

Thankfully, he was never president.

“Racist” too. Don’t forget that one. They’ve never looked so hypocritical as now, but of course they aren’t done yet.
