John McCain, the longtime senator and 2008 GOP presidential candidate who refused to leave fellow prisoners of war behind to escape years of torture in Vietnam, and whose maverick streak as Arizonas senior statesman at times frustrated fellow Republicans and confounded President Donald Trump, has died, his family confirmed in a statement Saturday.
He was 81and had been diagnosed with brain cancer in July 2017.
McCain had decided to discontinue medical treatment for the glioblastoma, an aggressive form of brain cancer, his family announced on Aug. 24. He had surpassed expectations for his survival, but "the progress of disease and the inexorable advance of age render their verdict," the statement said.

Quick! What was he about to reveal about Hillary?
Maverick = Democrat
that WAS holding back!!! :)
Forgive a crude NYer who never learned to be a southern gentleman :)
#### him.
POS
Worms need to eat too.
Now they are lauding McCain for forgiving Vietnam Nam and dropping the embargo.
Well, he and John Kerry had to lie and declare there were no POWs or remains or MIAs left over there because if their were the embargo couldnt be lifted.
Soon thereafter kerrys brother started making multi millions of dollars.
They sold out MIAs and POWs still there for filthy lucure.
Both are traitors.
Breaks my heart, for those left behind by these traitors, every time I read or hear this.
We certainly won’t hear about it on FoxNews, will we?
As I’ve posted before: McCain doesn’t need a eulogist, but rather an exorcist.
LOL!!! Too funny.

Agree with every word. Often wonder what our Founding Fathers were thinking when they limited the Presidency, but NOT the Senate or the Congress!?
The Framers were thinking in terms of institutional memory.
ROTFLMFAO!!! I am so HAPPY he is dead!
Shame on us? Screw you sweetheart. My son served this country in Iraq. I don’t give 2 hoots in hell about this assholes service. Serving your country doesn’t shield you from criticism. My 32 year old son served this country in Iraq when he was 22 and I still bust his chops everyday and that’s just because he was late for work not because he left POW’s in Vietnam, or ripped off a bank or cuddled up to ISIS. GFY.
“HAVE YOU NO THOUGHTS AND PRAYERS FOR THE BRAVE TUMOR THAT DIED TONIGHT?”
ROTFLMFAO!!!! Nice, one Laz! Perfect!
Thanks Laz.
I just spewed a perfectly good mouthful of bourbon.
lol
The Founding Fathers did not place a limit. It was changed after FDR.
May the Lord be with you.
