Arizona Republican Sen. John McCain, the self-styled "maverick" of the Senate who has served three decades in Congress, will discontinue medical treatment for brain cancer, his family said in a statement Friday.

I assume he’s giving up his seat.

Hell no... he’s hoping to survive until election day so he can be replaced by a Dhimmicrat.
My Sister who went home to be with God 5 years ago suffered from Multiple Myeloma and kidney failure and after 3 surgeries of her intestines being re-sectioned and refusing to restart she said that’s enough and stayed at home with no additional doctor visits and some pain meds for when it got unbearable.
She died peacefully while members of her church played her favorite hymns and her hand slowly sank to the bed and she flew away.
Although I have my issues with his decisions I understand his choice to stop all of the madness and just let nature take it’s course. I cannot nor will not judge him, that is in Gods hands now.
I assume hes giving up his seat.

At some point whether voluntary or by the Grace of God.
Ive been as big a detractor of John McCain as I could be here. Now that he is on his death bed, I am not happy that he is near death. I am happy he is near the end of his ability to harm this nation.
John has been the wrong person at the wrong place at the wrong time his whole life, until now...
Finally, he has found his true calling. Bye John.
Die, Mothafocker, die, you POS ,McDemocRat ..
how can you have brain cancer when you have no brain?
Im just waiting for McLames funeral to be a Wellstone Redux on steroids. AND it will be interesting to witness his wife and daughter playing the role of the wailing mourners.
He’ll be fluffing his butt buddy Teddy K in hell ...
Yep. McCain has discontinued medical treatment about ten times today.
He had no brain while living ...
Good attitude.
And my condolences for your familiy’s loss.
While I don’t like his approach to politics, it is always sad when someone gives up on continuing to live. RIP.
It is clear that so many Freepers have never been anywhere near someone who has a serious cancer.
This has brought out the ugly side of FreeRepublic.
The disease is not the issue...... the problem is the patient.
Many really don’tgive a damn about the patient
It is indeed, sad, when hope for a miracle no longer exists. But in cases such as Senator McCain’s, one can’t help but wonder how many others lives could’ve been saved if so many resources and so much time had been spent saving others.
The Lord and His Father are the Judges. I admit I think he “OWED US” a replacement for the past nine months or so.
