TETERBORO, New Jersey (WABC) -- A plane is attempting to make an emergency landing after it blew off two of its tires during takeoff at Teterboro Airport in New Jersey.
An airport source said the pilot took off around 10:50 a.m. after its two front tires blew off, and the plane is now circling the airport before it attempts to land.
Sources said 16 people are on board. The aircraft is a Gulfstream IV, a jet flown mainly for private and business use.
The aircraft was heading to London Luton Airport in Luton, England.
The plane was expected to land at Teterboro around 12:20 p.m., but it was diverted to Westfield-Barnes Regional Airport in Westfield, Massachusetts.

Blew off, or blew out?
I can’t imagine that the tires actually blew off the airplane.
Buy tires made in China?
“Try the Hudson....its been done before.”
We don’t really want another “hero” pilot to start whoring himself out to the leftists.

Hey, if you gotta burn off fuel, you may as well continue onto your destination then attempt an emergency landing there. At least that way if you survive, then you’re where you wanted to be.
Good question. Blowing mains during landing is common if the anti-lock braking isn’t working but nose landing gear tires have no brakes. But then, a tire blowing on takeoff is what brought down the Concord.
Debris on the runway.
BAF is a controlled airfield with a North/South runway that is 9000+ ft IMMIC and yes National Guard their has the monster fire equipment needed if they need to foam etc to stop a fire or preventive spray before landing. It is not a primary airport, pretty much G.A., Corporate and the Guard. Not as G.A. friendly back in the day when some of us may or may not have earned their wings their...
This irritates me. There’s not nearly enough redundancy in the procedures and systems being used.
What I mean is: a tire blows out and everyone’s dead.
It’s a bullshit system.
Sorry, aviators.
Yeah, but.....
Their destination is what? 8 hours away? I would NOT want to spend the next 8 hours wondering if I was gonna die while attempting to land.
One hour (dumping fuel) is bad enough.
Prayers for a safe landing.
If it’s Kenneth Copeland, then his congregation better be prepared to shell out another million or two to repair it after it slides down a foamed runway.
It’s Post Malone’s airplane. I have NO idea who that is, but I guess he/she is important enough to warrant TMZ breaking the news that he/she is on it.
