Prison inmates across the country are preparing to go on strike by refusing to eat or work, as a way to protest what they call 'prison slavery' and poor conditions.
Though the extent of the planned strike is not known, prisoners in at least 17 states say they will be taking part in coordinated action, which will begin on Tuesday and last through September 9.
Organizers say the strike is partly in response to the April riot in South Carolina's Lee Correctional Institution, where seven inmates were killed by other prisoners when gang tensions boiled over.
The masterminds of the strike have issued a list of 10 'demands', including an improvement of prison conditions, an end to life imprisonment, and an end to low-paid jobs behind bars.

The list of demands weren’t written by prisoners.....they read like something out of one of the commie groups running around. Final demand is to be able to vote will in prison
No the way you handle corruption is to handle corruption.
They want prevailing wage? Give it to em on the books.....then charge them room and board and cost of guards
and toss in a chain-gang trimming the weeds along the roadway. /not sarc

If it’s all prisoners, then, any of them on-track for “early release for good behavior” should be removed from the list.

No brainer. To end sentences of life inprisonment, simply end the criminal’s life
They don’t want to eat or work? Fine, then lock them in their cells 24/7, confiscate anything not bolted down, offer them only baloney sandwiches & water, turn off the lights, & let them scream until they drop dead.
