~The FReeper Canteen Presents~ Road Trip: Naval Air Station Meridian, Mississippi Naval Air Station Meridian or NAS Meridian is a military airport located 11 miles northeast of Meridian, Mississippi in Lauderdale County and Kemper County, and is one of the Navy's two jet strike pilot training facilities. Naval Air Station Meridian trains Sailors and Marines in aviation and technical related fields. It is home to Training Air Wing One, Training Squadron 9, Training Squadron 7, Naval Technical Training Center, Marine Aviation Training Support Squadron One and the Regional Counterdrug Training Academy. The Air Operations Department employs 230 military and civilian personnel to operate NAS Meridian/McCain Field and Naval Outlying Landing Field (NOLF) Joe Williams. Their primary mission is to support Commander, Training Air Wing ONE, the wing's subordinate training squadrons and its associated T-45 Goshawk aircraft in the conduct of undergraduate strike pilot training. Additional services are furnished to support operations for NAS and transient military aircrews. Air Traffic Control Division operates the control tower and radar final control systems. NAS Meridian maintains a separate runway, Joe Williams Outlying Landing Field (OLF), approximately 25 miles northwest of the main air station. Joe Williams OLF is an 8,000 foot long runway located in a rural area between the communities of Bogue Chitto and De Kalb. The field is used to reduced traffic congestion at the main air station, primarily when students are conducting Field Carrier Landing Practice in preparation for initial aircraft carrier qualification. Well, at least there’s one option that sounds good since you know her. I hope that works out. It’s no fun boarding cats because it’s always in the back of your mind that they’re stuck in a cage. Puts a damper on the trip.

Ruthe and I were able to put in our time and make it save the first time. LOL!! We thought that was pretty good.
A pretty smooth day for me. The boss is going to bring the time that’s in the new system into Cost Point, the other half of what we use. I’m running on faith that we will get time in rather easily and once there, we all know what we are doing. I don’t really believe it, but there is always hope. d:o)
All your outbuildings still in one piece after the storm?

Yes, that bothers me because I’m afraid it will change their personalities and behavior in the house.
It’ll work out somehow. Darn the 7 others. My cats won’t go out overnight every night now and they use the litter box way more than they used to. LOL!
Anyway. Hope you get some rain!

WOOHOO! Congrats to you and Ruthe on getting your time to save the first time. LOL! That was a good start to the day.
It sounds like y’all have a “battle plan” worked out and we aren’t going to give up hope it’ll work. All appendages crossed for luck! :-)
Yes, we were lucky and no buildings were damaged last week in the storm. Hubby’s cousin next door wasn’t as lucky. The roof on his tractor shed was damaged a little but at least it wasn’t ripped off.
Still keeping an eye on the radar and so far, so good. Looks like we’ll get a little wet but not have a storm. That’ll work!
I saw wet streets up there when I check the Anchorage cams a little earlier. Getting some more soaking rain by the looks of it. Great!

We’ve had to board a few cats when we went to FL to see Dad before he passed. I know they were unhappy while caged up but they were fine and normal once they came home. Your two should be fine as well.
The bigger concern is the outside crew freaking out over a stranger. Hope they don’t run off.
We should get a little rain tonight. No lightning showing up on the lightning map in the area where the rain that’s coming here is. A good sign!

They might freak out for the moment, but I’ll bet the food will lure them back. LOL!

it sure is for them. They even let me pet them for food. I don’t overfeed them by any stretch of the imagination. I do want them to be able to get along without regular feedings in case they run away or something. Yes, I feed them twice a day, but not humongous amounts.

It is for ANY kittehs. LOL! Shaking an old coffee can filled with dry food is how we get our outside cats to come home when they go out. They come a-runnin’.
Food is how I’ve tamed all the ferals that have shown up over the years. It starts with them allowing you t pet them while they eat, then they realize it feels good ANY time and you’ve got ‘em. :-)

All these kittens have to hear is my metal screen door open and they swarm. Like in the video. LOL! They are so cute...I just wish they all had homes where they were “onlys” and could be spoiled.
They also need their shots. I’m just not sure how I’m going to afford it. That’s $60+ per cat. I don’t know how you do it! I guess it’s the fact that ya gotta do what ya gotta do. Huh.
